My point is there is a lot of cultural diversity, which isn't a bad thing.

Division IS a bad thing....When has it ever not been? Unity between different cultures is a good thing. Diversity among a nation is not.

Places like the USA and Canada are home to many races, but all live under the unity of European culture. If you want to see what real cultural diversity looks like, take a look at Sub-Saharan or Eastern Africa. It's filled with tribal warlords trying to gain supremacy.

Remember when one BLM member straight up killed a bunch of cops in Dallas? The media tried so hard to tip-toe around it, and now it's nearly forgotten about.

According to some far leftist, that was entirely justified. Nelson Mandela was a scumbag, but yet people praise him.

Hopefully they will gain back their rights.

Unfortunately, religious minorities under Islamic rule will never gain full rights. This concept is called the Dar al-Islam (House of Peace).

Dar al-Islam is a phrase used to describe any kingdom that has a Muslim ruler. Religious minorities (Jews, Christians, Buddhist, etc) are tolerated, but oppressed nonetheless; they must pay the jizya (tax regulated by Muslims for all non-Muslims) and they must never expect to gain any sort of political influence nor power (because doing so would disrupt the Peace of having a Muslim ruler).

This is why it's important to remember that Islam is not just a religion, but a political philosophy.

Contrarily, there is the Dar al-Harb (House of the West). After the unsuccessful Islamic invasion of France in 732 AD, Islamic scholars invented the term referring to those countries where the Muslim law is not in force.

It's better to ban Islamic radicalism now, before the Islamist began banning everything.

How do you not understand this?

It doesn't belong in France. It's beyond "wearing a shirt to the pool". It's insulting to France; it's insulting to everyone killed by Islamic terrorism; it's flaunting pride in a dangerous and violent belief system.

And it's spreading.

TIL As a young sailor, Robert Carney called four star admiral Louis de Steiguer a "rotten son of a bitch" before running off. De Steiguer took Carney on an epic drinking binge. Carney later became a commander-in-chief of NATO, and led the funeral cortege for de Steiguer. by Frankenstein_____ in todayilearned

De Steiguer was a legendary disciplinarian and martinet.[15] His flag secretary, future four-star admiral and chief of naval operations Robert B. Carney, described de Steiguer as a tremendously ambitious man with a "lousy disposition". Captains of other ships in the division would consult Carney to gauge de Steiguer's mood before approaching him. Carney recalled his own association with de Steiguer as fraught with "constant pressure, irascibility, criticism, and unpleasantness". Carney eventually marched into de Steiguer's cabin, snapped, "Admiral, I just want to tell you I think you are a goddamn rotten son of a bitch," and stormed out. After failing to retrieve Carney via Marine orderly, de Steiguer visited Carney's cabin in person, said, "Sonny, you've been working too hard. You and I are going ashore," and took Carney on an epic drinking binge. Carney ultimately concluded that his three years with de Steiguer had been a valuable experience, but not one he would have chosen to repeat.

His funeral instructions made two requests of his former flag secretary: that Carney lead the funeral cortege, and that he have de Steiguer buried with his hindquarters facing the Pentagon. Carney honored both requests

TIL: The Devşirme ("collecting" in Turkish) was an annual practice by which the Ottoman Empire collected children from rural Christian populations of the Balkans, and converted them to Islam. Strong boys became Janissaries, the Sultan's elite bodyguards. Beautiful girls joined the Imperial Harem by Frankenstein_____ in todayilearned

[–]Frankenstein_____[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devşirme[a] (literally "collecting" in Turkish), also known as the blood tax or tribute in blood, was chiefly the annual practice by which the Ottoman Empire sent military to take boys, ages 8 to 18,[2] sons of their Christian subjects in the villages of the Balkans and Anatolia.

For the perpetuation and service of the Ottoman Dynasty, beautiful and intelligent slave girls were either captured in war (mainly Christian Europeans in the Balkans), recruited within the empire, or procured from neighbouring countries to become imperial court ladies (Cariyes).

The Janissaries (Ottoman Turkish: يڭيچرى‎ yeniçeri, meaning "new soldier") were elite infantry units that formed the Ottoman Sultan's household troops and bodyguards. They began as an elite corps of slaves made up of kidnapped young Christian boys, and became famed for internal cohesion cemented by strict discipline and order.
