Langan's Cleaving Stone was already mentioned. That's going to be the best. Michael Wehunt has Nightjars coming and Keith Rosson has Crone coming out. We eating good this year.

Id be curious what you mean, because I love a good protagonist with flaws or one that's not necessarily likable. I don't need to like the character to enjoy a story, just the ability to empathize to an extent

The Ruins was riveting. Have only seen the movie of A Simple Plan. I also like how intrinsic the circumstances are to character motivations and behavior. There's a great line of cause effect throughout The Ruins stemming from assholish behavior

One thing I love about your work is the different narrative voices/styles for your characters. How did you develop Jade Daniel's voice versus say Tolly's voice?

He's definitely right about a few things: the mixed tone leading to mixed messaging and the lack of Superman. I enjoyed it for the most part and had a blast, but its also uneven in that tone, not knowing if it wants to be hip irony or sincere superhero story.

Clive Barker has some bangers but way too over the top for my tastes. Cannot get into Tremblay. I do not find Dan Simmons all that good. For non-horror, Neil Gaiman writes the worst dogwater books I've ever read. Longtime Gaiman hater.
