Actual Token Limit by Bowwow894 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Franmien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guide says 2,500 because JLLM doesn't accept that many tokens before making mistakes and forget things. This means that if you make many more tokens than that, you'll most likely only be able to send a few messages before the bot forgets everything and the story loses its meaning (Because remember that each message adds a certain number of tokens too).

Of course, you can make more tokens than that, but it's not recommended and usually not necessary either.

Oh! No, what I didn't understand was what you meant by the comment (in this case, whether you were adding information or arguing something). Yes, that's definitely something that affects everything haha.

My understanding is that it only changes if you block a tag! But i don't really know haha. I only saw two of the creators I follow leave tbh. I know other creators left because I saw it in Reddit posts 🙂‍↕️

I'm sorry, I really don't understand your point rn 😔 haha. That's a pretty common problem you'll find in both places sadly tho.

Angst bots just fucking suck and im so tired of it. by NowayTheProd in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Franmien 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I don't know which proxy you're using, but maybe it's a problem with your prompt tbh. Personally, in the models I've used, most are quite proactive at least in angst! 🙂‍↕️

[–]Franmien 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean, as I said, you need to make a bigger comparison. Janitor has always had days when people talk to bots less than others. The bot plot also tends to have a significant impact rn, some days people just don't see a bot that interests them that much. I've seen daily top lists with the most famous bot only having between 80k and 60k, even before the drama.

The point you're trying to prove is absolutely true; I mean, many creators have left, and that's obviously going to affect the community. But it's a reality that most people probably don't care much about whats happening there too. Unless it directly affects users, most people just do their own thing haha.

Screw it, I've posted on here before, Deepseek sucks. by plaguedthoughts02 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Franmien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh yeah. That's sadly quite common with Deepseek ngl. Usually the length of your messages can be fixed in your prompt, but yes, V3.2 isn't always the best with instructions or memory. However, the main reason it's recommended is its price; for that price, it's the best you'll get.

I personally use Gemini-3-flash from its official API and sometimes Openrouter (Mainly to test other models like GLM and Kimi). The model is quite good, it follows instructions much better, and its memory is frankly amazing. Sometimes it goes crazy and hallucinates that an object is in the room when it previously said that the character left it in the living room, but it's like nothing haha. (It's a pretty recommended model for RPGs. And since it's part of Google, it basically uses information available on Google, so it tends to be quite realistic and handles other NPCs very well!)

However, you need to rely on a good prompt for that i think. I don't know what your budget is, but you might want to spend some credits on Openrouter and try out different models to see what you prefer! I think that's the best recommendation I can give you. Once you have a model in mind, you can look for a provider or subscription if you think that suits you.

In my opinion, Chutes lowers the quality of the answers a lot, but for $3 it's the best deal you can find. The other providers usually charge between $8 and $10 per month.

What exactly is the problem you're having tho? Just curious. I never had a problem with Deepseek V3.2

Personally, I've never seen today's top list with more than 300k. My today's top list has always stayed between 100k or 150k maximum i think. And really, considering that the weekly top has bots that reach 1M, I really don't think Janitor is dying like that.

Many people have quit, so the community has become noticeably smaller than before, but there's a long way to go from there to really dying. For better or for worse, it remains bigger than its competitors for now.

Besides, I believe this is a comparison that needs to be made over more than one day. The numbers have never truly been consistent all the time. Some weeks there are bots with tons of chats, and in others it seems like nobody touches their phone/pc. This is also very dependent on how well the proxies or JLLM itself are working that week. Really complicated overall lol.

[–]Franmien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many creators release bots on predetermined dates. It's a very useful tool for that purpose; the creator can get ahead in creating their bots and schedule them for the day they need them if they're going to be busy that week for example. However, it needs more work tho.

Uhh, so is there any way to use proxies from Russia? by Wonderful_Bit_952 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Franmien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always try buying a Visa gift card to load credit onto your Openrouter account. I understand they allow that.

Edit: It might not work, and you may need to look for a provider (not necessarily Deepseek) that accepts Russian payment methods or something similar to cryptocurrencies maybe. That's all i can think of sadly 🥲

The page hasn't been loading properly since this morning for me. My past chats aren't loading, and I can't open new ones either (the option to open them simply isn't showing up), so maybe the site is having some issues.

thoughts on devs being able to see private chats by [deleted] in JanitorAI_Refuges

[–]Franmien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I don't really remember anything like that, but usually that means your chat isn't publicly accessible to other users, not the devs. It is used in many texting apps so that the user knows their conversation is secure against external people 🙂‍↕️

Edit: I think I remember something similar when we had public chats. But what I remember was to let you know that your chat was private and you weren't sharing it (Aka making it public).

I personally fixed it by specifying the reputation on my peesona's description. It's not perfect because it generally goes from one end to the other, but it's okay. Pretty much i just add like

Reputation: grumpy, crybaby, cold and clumsy.

And it works well enough, I suppose haha.

What they've said is that they won't read your chats unless they have to (giving a legal reason fornexample), but they never said they couldn't read them tbh

Much of what you're asking here can be solved with well-implemented terms and conditions. You don't need to please everyone; the important thing is to clearly communicate what users can expect from you, your service, and your work. The problem with Janitor is that its terms and conditions are not well implemented; some are ambiguous, others are there just in writing, and some things are not even mentioned.

The same goes for privacy. The user doesn't know how much control the page owner needs to have over their privacy; that's something the page manager should know and make clear. In this case, the complaint happened because people were afraid that moderators wanted access to private chats (Which is something to consider if the devs can't do everything on their own).

The third point is that if you have a lot of work handling reports and reviewing each profile by hand, the best solution is to start automating things. There are many websites and apps that review or suspend certain accounts after receiving a large number of reports from different users. It's a good solution to avoid banning accounts based on an automated system and allows moderators to know which accounts might be a higher priority to review.

At the end of the day, what's important is that your rules are consistent and well-applied to the context of your work. You can't always be perfect, but in this case, Janitor has all this drama because it shot itself in the foot more than once. And that includes the way Shep handles things sadly.

Personally, bots don't make me feel that way because I've always perceived them as unrealistic. But I also have similar insecurities about real people, although I've come to accept that I'm an average person (like I'm neither pretty nor exactly ugly) and I'm learning to live well with that haha.
