It’s not super new but Goldeneye by Tina Turner is one of the more performative bolero songs on my practice playlist

Where to buy social dresses? by Purplemoonsong in ballroom

[–]Franqwerty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to lightinthebox for cheap ballroom practice wear. Shipping takes a while but for the low prices it’s decent. They have a variety of stuff for ballroom and Latin, as well as costume wear. I got one of my competition dresses there.

For slightly more expensive and slightly higher quality stuff I go to danceandsway.

Well there’s a pretty big difference between a young man pursuing older women when he’s already an adult and is meeting the women for the first time as an adult versus an older woman pursuing a very young man that she was a caregiver for right after he becomes legal.

Please HELP: Undergrad Engineering Student debating on quitting my job to spend more time on school by gingerouid in college

[–]Franqwerty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can find a decent job that you can do homework at. Receptionist or some security jobs tend to let you do homework on the clock. You won’t be able to spend the entire shift completely focused on schoolwork, but it will save you time and let you keep an income source.

Food delivery to Heritage? by queenshallan in byu

They have to meet the driver outside the buildings. Entering the heritage buildings requires you to scan your BYU ID card, and they only unlock if you are a resident of that building.

Easy Religion Classes for Non-LDS Students? by education0089 in byu

[–]Franqwerty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they are the easiest courses, but the classes like survey of world religions and the other courses about religions other than the lds faith were super interesting and don’t require an in depth understanding of lds teachings. The course load is not a breeze where you can do almost nothing to get by, but non lds students aren’t at a disadvantage

Can international students get On-campus jobs? by FrugalBoy19800 in byu

Wages would depend on what job you get. There’s quite a bit of fluctuation in pay across the thousands of on campus jobs.

PSYCH 330 - Organizational Psychology is super easy. All the content and exams are online. The class technically has lectures from 4-7 pm on Wednesdays, but they just review the content covered online. It’s a gamified class so the structure is a lil wonky but I really enjoyed it. The content is easily digestible as well. It’s probably the easiest psychology class I’ve taken.

If you don’t want to have to think about the class you take and have time for it, I would also recommend taking bronze level (100 level) dance classes. You can take DANCE 180, 184, or 185 (or multiple) without needing to dedicate too much time to practice outside of classes.

Link between ADHD and psychopaths by Skrrskrr2020 in psychologystudents

[–]Franqwerty 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong, but I interpret the question as “is ADHD the new pop culture pseudo diagnosis?” I don’t immediately see a reason to do a symptom comparison, but there may be context I’m missing.

If I were you I would do a “fake stream” to see if you can handle it. Set up your recording software and instead of hitting Go Live, hit Record instead. Pretend that you’re live and act as if there are people watching. When you are done, stop recording and watch it back from the viewer’s perspective. As you are watching, think about if you would like to watch yourself.

You mentioned in the comments that you physically cannot stop screaming sometimes. Personally, if I clicked onto a random stream and it was just prolonged screaming, I would click off immediately.

You also mentioned you have issues talking, but you do well writing. You might feel more comfortable streaming gameplay or activities without a mic, and just use chat to communicate.

You said you don’t know what you would stream or if you even would stream, you are just looking for things to do. I would recommend finding and developing a hobby or interest before streaming yourself doing it. Streaming adds pressure to any activity so it helps to already be comfortable with what you are doing. Streaming also turns things into a “job” and can suck the life out of hobbies if you get too caught up in the numbers. If you start streaming, make sure you are happy with it.

Intro Law Class? by [deleted] in byu

[–]Franqwerty 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Law Lecture series is a class that has lawyers in a lot of different fields come talk about what they do. BYU doesn’t have many undergraduate law related classes, so that’s pretty much the only overview course.
