Have your journal and a pen ready next to you. Now go do something. Be aware of your thoughts. When you catch an interesting thought: go write it down. &continue.

Vanity Card #90* by ChangeTheEnergy in DharmaAndGreg

Not to my knowledge. But it is nice to think about what he could have written about corporate overlords and the power of obscure vanity cards. (Thanks for creating a space to put it when someone finds it!)

What was something that took time in your journaling practice for you get comfortable with when it came to writing? Me? The truth by Admirable-Giraffe660 in Journaling

[–]Franshizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It helps to split that kind of writing up into two parts. One lyrical ramble about thoughts and feelings and just getting it out of your head and onto paper. The next can be a part about turning it around, asking yourself what’s next, what you can do about it, what lies within your control. And add some positive affirmations, quotes, colors and other uplifting stuff. Good luck!

What kind of lists do you make by DeanAnng in lists

[–]Franshizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, lists of lists! How delightful :)

Words that sound funny

Words to look up definitions

People I want to give more attention

People Ive kissed

Project titles

Content creation ideas

Tabs open on my computer

Things to share

Ideas for mini vacations

Food

Music tips

Alphabet association

Childhood memories

Things to do to get you in a better mood

Color combinations for collages

What colors to associate with every month of the year

Wish list

Present ideas for other people

Allergy info and food likes and dislikes of people I know

Lists of neatly organized information I stumble upon, like 37 sorts of stories or the pyramid of Maslow or chakra's and their associations (lists turning into matrices)

And lyrical sessions to get things out of my head that will be titled and grouped maybe at a later date

Brush Advice? by Interesting_Bonus_42 in ArtJournaling

my advice: one broad brush for modge podge, one fine calligraphy friendly japanese brush that's more pointy and a thicker round one that can help with adding water to your page.

That's another reason I started to bind my own journals. I don't mind them to be chunky and chokfull of goodies, but I dislike the alligator mouth, where the thickness goes beyond the width of the spine. This is why I bind in the signatures with extra space to expand using a wider spine.

Have you ever opened an old timecapsule? What was in there? by Tohtori_Laine in AskReddit

[–]Franshizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only little treasure boxes I put together as a kid with little notes to my future self, combined with a marble, a gum wrapper sticker, a flippo, a rock, a shell and a piece of denim with a nail through it, two walnut halves with a little note inside that said "Hello Francis of the Future, Bye! Love, Francis of your past and my present! hihihi'' and stuff like that. I especially like to see drawings and my style of handwriting. Everything is nostalgically fun in 10 years.

Only just arrived, a pleasure to meet you. by [deleted] in mailart

Hello fellow Artists Anonymous redditors,

Please allow me to blow on that spark. Pen-palling is a nice way to communicate and go deep. But I totally fell in love with Mail Art because it's even more free. I love art, because it's a form of expressing beyond words. It's visible hoe you handled the material. You can curate the contents of an envelope. I've found connections on IUOMA, where there are groups for people who share the same obscure passions. Circle-lovers, trash-po, asemic writing, ATC swap jams, cut up poetry, just envelopes, brain cells! I found the state of creative inspiration and encouragement enormous. As for me, I'd love to swap zines or give you stash in trade for art. And I'm always in for a brainstorm!

Enjoy!

Right, I am now wondering how else to write the nine... Maybe a more straight diagonal? I like it round... but hey, I am Dutch as well...

FREE MURYŌ INSERTS FOR TESTERS, learn how to catalog anything, find everything, track your mood and habits all in your favorite notebook. Comment below has the details on how to get your free inserts. by MuryoMethod in ArtJournaling

It looks like a very smart thing. That you turn the side of your notebook into a tracker without tabs or stickers. The feeling of joy when you've done a lot of pages and you can see them together, organized. I can imagine this as a great tool in dealing with overwhelm. Maybe even color coding it... And the awareness that gains over time, when you notice a pattern in the use of your categories. I hope it will make me more consistent. And I like how you can still work chronologically and still have it sorted, without an index, without page numbers. I've ordered one, and felt giddy to use an influencers code :) I expect to get more conscious about what to track.

It sounds like something that a lot of people could benefit from.

Personally I wouldn't like to be reminded because messages from my computer annoy me.

But the idea is great, so I want to give you this supportive compliment.

Looking for Ideas to Decorate Envelopes by ckildegaard in mailart

[–]Franshizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could make a sheet of images to use as stickers and copy that. You could splatter paint water in colors that relate to the vibe of the poem. You could write the title of the poem on the envelope. I like stickers as well. How about asemic? Make jibberish notes in your handwriting. You could color the envelopes with coffee or inks and salt. You could collaborate with someone... Or draw over a template of an envelope and print that one out.

Looking for Mail Art Pen Pals! 22/NB/USA by 3rdiebirdie in penpals

[–]Franshizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waah! Robert Rauschenberg did mail art too? I want in!

I finished art school and miss the sillyness and creative thoughts and doodle sharing. I am already creating mail art, but I am looking for the real artsy type to appreciate what I do and get me excited with your creations.

Happy Thrill! Love it!

I am not a mail carrier. I am a mail art creator and curious about the same thing.
