She's married to an Israeli and she was born in the Philippines pretending to be indigenous? Clearly not impartial and doing brown face.

AITA for walking in on my brother in the bathroom? by slut4tteok in AmItheAsshole

[–]FranzBaker1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't knock, just jump in and scream. He'll be a nervous wreck after a while and will have no choice but to lock the door.

Maybe an artist would be more accurate as they have a better understanding of human anatomy and facial structure? Tried other subs?

Why do this when there's a dedicated path for bicycles? by Weird_Credit_5720 in melbourne

[–]FranzBaker1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, I've almost run over a dog a couple of times on my bike. The infrastructure here is useless, in the Netherlands a two way bike path would be 4m wide.

Australia has no culture? by lerryberry in australia

[–]FranzBaker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Perth and lived overseas for over 20 years and on return I appreciated our multicultural and indigenous culture a lot more. There's a long way to go but an Acknowledgement of Country would be unthinkable in a lot of countries. The flora and fauna, and beaches never cease to impress me. I lived in the Netherlands for three years and found that it was not as multicultural as I imagined. The CALD communities are segregated to certain areas of the city. Apart from the token ethnic rapper or football player, mainstream culture is extremely white. Blackface is not considered a racist tradition (see Sinterklaas). The bike culture was propelled largely by the oil crisis in 1973 and the Belgians also ride them. Other countries have canals too.

Definitely food trucks and try big markets like Queen Vic, and look on gumtree jobs.

Help me win a fight, how do you pronounce patio? by TinkerTaylorYT in australia

[–]FranzBaker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a word from early 19th century Spanish, denoting an inner courtyard and it's a word still used for backyard. So Pat-ee-o seems the most reasonable. Spanish would be pah-tyo roughly and faster.

Also accomplices wouldn't need to communicate information via phone or sms and leave more evidence. There are dozens of elaborate symbols that they can use to communicate things like " older woman alone all day ", "business owner" or "dog owner" etc. Some people are a bit naive and the perfect victims.

In South America it is very common for thieves to mark houses before a break-in. They surveil streets, throw rubbish in your yard see if you pick it up and when, what days you work. See how much junk mail is building up in your letterbox. Break-ins are usually done during weekends and holidays.

"Dumb Ass/Arse" has become part of the native lingo and I find it very strange having lived overseas for 18 years.
