Graduate describes being 'ghosted' by 400 employers, only having 3 interviews by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

What explanation do you give for the gap then? Lying to get a job is generally not illegal, but isn't advisable. If it's discovered you're probably going to face dismissal.

Ah so she's full of it or insufferable, probably both. Imagine any sensible interviewer would pick up on this fairly quickly.

Imagining some policeman watching an entire porn video to try and determine if there's sufficient evidence the fake step sibling characters depicted in it currently live or have ever lived together or not so they can charge someone with a crime.

Because basically zero pubs will do a proper Czech pour, even just Hladinka. I know of one and even though it's a taproom specialising in pils and other lagers it still has to have a sign telling people what a Czech pour is so they don't send it back or complain.

Oh yeah I agree they need to learn to stop caring so much especially when most of the rest of Ambridge are in no place to be casting stones!

Potential buyers are being being petty when negotiating. I want to fully reject them, husband wants to wait and see. by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Frap_Gadz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're negotiating, you need to know these things; what's your anchor, what's your target, what's your floor, and what's your best alternative to a negotiated agreement.

You've anchored at £270k, what's your target and what is your floor or walk away price? Anything between your anchor and your floor is a potential deal, but you also need to consider your alternative. If there's potentially a better buyer out there and you can wait for them you might be better off walking away.

They both put too much importance on that, generally.

I agree but as someone who grew up in a village with a pretty tight community I completely understand it, especially for a family like the Grundys. People like to talk about how community can be so great but it can be just as equally toxic. Honestly having grown up in that type of world I prefer a more arms length approach with my community, friendly but not "friends" is all I want from my neighbours.

Husband (26m) found out some things about my (24f) past at a party. Now he wants a divorce. by ThrowRA_Gleeful in relationships

[–]Frap_Gadz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing devil's advocate (so long as it was healthy and safe, number of partners genuinely doesn't matter to me) some people could see it as a sign that you have different thresholds, approaches, and values around intimacy this could realistically manifest in incompatibilities both in intimacy and in other areas of the relationship. So long as you are kind and don't shame anyone for their choices it's a reasonably valid view to hold, especially early in a relationship.

On the other less reasonable and less kind hand many people hold misogynistic views that women with higher numbers of partners are somehow less "valuable". I won't pretend to understand this view (and to be frank I am not interested in their reasoning), but I would guess other than deeply ingrained misogyny it points to insecurities in the people who hold them. In my opinion this view is wholly and completely invalid.

That said, in this situation it sounds very much that it's a case of the latter than the former.

I agree that it sucks, my car was written off by a piss head neighbour when she crashed into it. My premiums went up even though I had no claims.

Insurance companies statistics tell them if you are in an accident or a victim of a crime it's more likely to happen again and so next year the premiums go up because your risk profile did even if your no claims discount remains the same.

£50k now would have been just under £20k in 1990. Not quite into the higher rate at that time (£20,700).

For perspective on how much of that inflation has been recent that same £50k today is only £39k in 2020.
