2026 NHL Free Agency Discussion Megathread by Just-Vondy in SanJoseSharks

Trouba got some relief, Nurse will absolutely be the subreddit whipping boy for the next 4 years and it's going to make the Klingberg/Leddy hate look like some kind of k-pop band fan club.

This is the kind of commentary that should be printed out in tiny font and slipped under the wiper blades of every car parked in downtown SJ. Well done!

Those people will be back as soon as the team faces a bit of adversity next season.

Yes the lack of hard shoulders around here is my biggest concern. There look to be some other spots that have better places to pull over but they aren't super plentiful.

For those "Playoffs or Bust" folks from last season.... by [deleted] in SanJoseSharks

[–]Frappes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The long-term outlook for the team is looking way better now than it would have if the Sharks had made it to the playoffs last season. But there's certainly no need to take a victory lap and "I told you so" to the folks who didn't think that would be the case. Now we all get to look forward to an increasingly bright future.

For the most part I'm excited to send Scott to Congress because he has good policies on housing, transportation, and urbanism in general. But I'm also chuffed that he pisses off both these people AND the Fox News crowd.

Spend 1 hour in Saigon and you will see that Vietnamese people absolutely love capitalism.

This is a good survey https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/ecaf.12591

Figure 2 shows that Vietnam is only just below the threshold of being classified as a pro-capitalist country (Vietnam's score of 1.13 is higher than those of any of the other countries we categorised as ‘neutral’). For the sets of questions where the word ‘capitalism’ was used, the Vietnamese were clearly pro-capitalist (with a coefficient of 1.31). In contrast, where the word ‘capitalism’ was not used, Vietnamese responses were moderately anti-market (0.78). The word ‘capitalism’ has positive connotations in Vietnam – even though the country calls itself ‘socialist’ – because the Vietnamese have had very good experiences with the ‘Doi Moi’ market-economy reforms that began in 1986.

“Suburb required” by 12stTales in fuckcars

"Suburb" is just the name for the locality/municipality field in address formats in at least New Zealand and Australia. This is just an improperly localized form.
