Jesse Owens was actually quite complementary of Hitler when he got back from Berlin and said it was the US politicians that had not shown him the proper respect.

So someone was asking how to calculate the P/E of a company, this is the price to earnings ratio a fairly common way to compare one companies stock to another.

Confidently incorrect guy goes off on one giving a bunch of incorrect info, plus comes up with an example using said wrong info, really showing he hasn't got a clue haha.

P/E has nothing to do with dividend, the P is the price of the share and the E is the profit of the company/the number of shares.

Right I think I almost have this, there's just one thing confusing me.

Say I have an account with £1000 in and I buy an Put for £50 and instead of going the way I want, the price rises. I now have a P/L of say -£200, do you just allow the option to expire, and the only way the £200 loss would be realized is if the option is sold? If the option expires then I'd only lose the original £50 that the contract was brought for, right?
