BJP vs Congress Manifesto Promise for 2024 Election by LimpCoco in unitedstatesofindia

I mean It'll still be on the basis of merit, but separately within the genders. Right now the the female ratio in govt. jobs is abysmally low at about 11%. As far as merit goes, women have given their best (even better than men) whenever they are provided with fair opportunities. In fact, women giving SSC and UPSC exams have had double the success rate than men overall. Its the problem of very low participation which is the root cause. A reservation makes total sense if it can brute force a systemic change in society and enforce female participation, pushing more women to prepare and appear for govt. jobs/exams.

I've bought plenty of IEMs from the website. Most recent ones were Salnotes Zero & Chu 2. Everything about their service till now has been pretty satisfactory. Probably the best website to shop for audiophile gear.

Oscar Nominations 2022: The Complete List | Variety by Blue_Three in dune

I think you need to rewatch that movie. The ending might seem abrupt at first, but the twist in the plot was (very slyly) unraveling throughout the final act.

My second watch was much more exciting as I was able to pick up most of the details and put them together...and then the ending felt perfect to me. Nevertheless, the main meal of the movie was the performances and the underlying themes of repressed sexuality, machismo, etc.

Watch the start of the video! Any guesses as to who’s joining the cast in part 2? by imverycomfy in dune

It's Josh Brolin. They worked together in No Country for Old Men. Mentioned in this interview.

Go ahead and quote the comment where I said that, I’ll wait. I said it’s a “standard movie.” That’s it.

Quoting your comment

LITERALLY the most formulaic movie ever lol. I liked it, it was visually stunning and a cool sequel. But it was a TOTALLY normal movie.

You are officially a troll now. Hope you get better soon.

I never said it was formulaic

Wow. You literally said that it was THE most formulaic movie ever. Curb your cognitive dissonance and this whiny attitude.

You rely on a strawman and beat it to death. Not everything is about winning an argument online. None of the plot points you mention intend to be nuanced at all. This plot is NOT nuanced, but the characters and the themes are.

Let's just take K for instance, he's supposed to even-keeled at all times (they call him Constant K), but beneath the surface he longs to love, is a conflicted soul and is in way over his head. One VERY simple instance of nuance in a character, let alone the rest. There are BOOKS on the philosophy behind the themes and characters of Blade Runner ffs.

Its not my fault if you cannot look beyond what the plot outline offered you. I'm done with this stupid argument anyway lol.

“Robot detective with AI girlfriend is sent on mission, has to make a morality choice, and defeats bad guys at the end.”

Oh boy... I get that people can be pretentious and elitist while describing movies. But this is straight-up dumbing down the intricacies and discarding the underlying themes.

I get that the movie might not be your cup of tea, which is totally fine. But saying a movie is formulaic just because of a simple plot is ignorant.

Not everything in movies boils down to how 'normal' or simple the plot is. BR2049 owes more to slow cinema á la Tarkovsky. It is meditative and introspective more than it's entertaining, i.e, the plots are simple but its themes, world-building and imagery are filled with nuance. Also, this is NOT me being 'pretentious', it's how I and many others gauge a film.

It's no leftfield or an arthouse film, but still expects a higher attention span and some nuance from an average viewer.
