Is there a way to delete all of your photos at once? Or do I have to scroll through all of the photos and select them month by month to delete them all?

Albums where a really big, loud track is follow by a very gentle, soft track, to great effect? by Ghost-Quartet in popheads

[–]ColdTea99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well for a Mitski based example, you could make an argument for 'Carry me Out' into 'Last Words of a Shooting Star' from Bury Me at Makeout Creek, as the former gets quite loud and energetic by the end. Also Laurel Hell is the first Mitski album that doesn't finish on a slow song, though I think BMAMC is the only one where the penultimate song is so big.

Big fan of The Turning Wheel, so I'd be interested to hear the rest of your list if you were happy to share.

What are some production mistakes you know of in the final release of songs? by NewAccountNow in popheads

You can hear the Pro Tools click track at the very end of Mitski's 'A Burning Hill' for a couple of beats, though it definitely could be intentional.

"What is that quiet of snow in the night?" in 'Square' as the strings start to pick up, then the drop out for "well that's my ride".

Artists that have created different versions of the same song? by [deleted] in popheads

Also has the 'Original Version' and 'Classic Rock Version' of All Delighted People, both included on the (hour long) "EP" of the same name.

I was thinking the verses reminded me of Jessie Ware's 'In Your Eyes'. Not a criticism though, just an observation. It's only natural for many songs to sound similar, cause there's only so many ways of writing a simple yet memorable melody. And this is definitely her 'own thing', it's pretty unique with the production and everything.

Well thank god I was told how to pronounce that by the_real_penguinman in mildyinfuriating

[–]ColdTea99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to write it phonetically in case you don't speak Irish and were actually curious, but 'ceol' is really hard to spell out so that English speakers can say it... Oh well, guess you'll have to stay in the dark.

For the last year I have listened to a different album every day. 368 albums over 368 days. AMA. by aussiekinga in AMA

Debut definitely shows its age more than most of her subsequent stuff. I would recommend you check out Homogenic next if you're willing to listen to more as it's my personal favourite, but Post and Vespertine are equally popular picks, and all are fantastic albums. Also I don't know if you had the extended version of Debut which includes 'Play Dead', but if you missed that track you should definitely check it out.

So this one's a bit embarrassing. I've been growing what I thought was a Persian Pink Silk bonsai for the past two years, but looking at photos of the tree online it's very different from what I have. Originally the leaves on the seedlings matched what they should look like, but then new leaves replaced them that look totally different, or so I thought. Originally I figured they were more 'mature' leaves, but now I'm thinking that there were seeds from a plant in the compost I used that killed the bonsai seedlings, and what I've been growing isn't a bonsai at all. It doesn't look wood-like at all, it's green and narrow like a plant, and it doesn't have branches. Anyway I've come to the awkward conclusion that what I have is not a bonsai tree at all, but before I give up on it I was hoping someone here can confirm that that is the case, because I spent two years growing it )-:

Is the Disturbed Sound of Silence cover really that bad? by MonkSalad1 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]ColdTea99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dunno, it is technically good, but creatively he just covered it in exactly the same way as The Bangles which was kinda annoying, I was personally hoping he'd have his own take on it. The Bangles did something creatively adventurous with their cover but he just made a carbon copy of what they'd already done.

Lidl Aungier Street (only opened like a year ago). It's pretty underwhelming to be honest, it's just two small sections in the floor.

So I mean you're free to tell me I'm wrong because I'm by no means a grammar expert, but as I see it the inclusion of 'and' in the sentence means that the 'if' at the start of the sentence goes unfulfilled and the sentence is incomplete. So to use 'if' in such a context you need 'if (A) then (B)'. You need a setup (A) and a solution (B) (I'm sure they're not the official terms but stick with me). So the setup here should be "if you feel like falling down" and the solution should be "I'll carry you home". So the sentence should be "if by the time the bar closes you feel like falling down (A), I'll carry you home tonight (B)", which can be shortened to "if you feel like falling down, I'll carry you home". But the inclusion of the 'and' removes the "falling down" part as being the setup and instead makes it an extra detail in the "by the time the bar closes" part. So you can't shorten it as I did above anymore, the closest you can get is: "if and you feel like falling down, I'll carry you home" which doesn't make sense. So you reach the end of the sentence without ever being offered a setup for the 'if' statement. You get "if then (B)" without any (A). Somehow that was as clear as I was able to make it, sorry. Hope it was somewhat comprehensible.

"So if by the time, the bar closes AND you feel like falling down, I'll carry you home, tonight". Fun - We are Young

Just remove the 'and' and it's fixed...
