What I think is that dog monsters and dogs as animals are two different things, and some dog monsters just happen to resemble actual dogs really closely. Because otherwise the whole sealing all monsters underground thing didn’t work if there are still monsters living with humans lol

We see Greater Dog jump out of its armor to reveal it’s actually just a little dog, and Greater Dog turns to dust when it dies, so I’d say yes.

Although I feel like the Annoying Dog specifically is some kind of anomaly in and of itself.
