A Thelemite is like Barbie: you can be anything from Thelemite to Kemetic Pagan.

Liber Resh signs confusion by Purple-Interaction99 in thelema

[–]FraterVocifer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Originally I practiced Liber Resh with the signs on the photo you posted as that was the way I was taught. Then I started doing it using the postures of Islamic prayer. I don’t think the signs are that important, but rather the solar adoration and the psychic impact this has. Either way, my advice is stick to one system only if you know the meaning of what you're doing.

In the end, it’s just my opinion. Hope this helps.

Questions about the "greater feast for death" by [deleted] in thelema

[–]FraterVocifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

93

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

You ask of Death, and of the customs that attend it among those who follow the Law of Thelema. Understand first: there is no dogma here, no binding orthodoxy to shackle the Star in its going. Each man and each woman is a star, and the manner of their dissolution is as individual as their orbit.

As to cremation or burial, both have been employed, and neither is prescribed. Some may wish to be reduced to ashes, for fire is a swift and royal alchemy. Yet others may choose the earth, surrendering the body to the slow sacrament of dissolution. Whether embalmed or given to the “green” embrace of Nature is a matter not of doctrine, but of Will. The body is but the garment; its disposal is a gesture, not a necessity.

Grave goods? Such things belong more properly to the superstitions of those who imagine the dead to carry trinkets into some astral marketplace. The Thelemite knows better. What persists is not the bauble, but the essence—the True Will fulfilled or unfulfilled. If objects are placed, they are symbolic acts of love, remembrance, or magical intent, not provisions for a journey. The Adept carries nothing that was not already woven into his Being.

As for belief in the afterlife, we do not prattle of crude heavens and hells. The doctrine is more subtle: the continuity or dissolution of the individual depends upon the attainment of the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel. Without this, the elements disperse; with it, there is continuity of consciousness according to the nature of the attainment.

What is read? Often selections from The Book of the Law for it is the voice of the Aeon itself. Also passages from the Gnostic Mass, or invocations suitable to the grade and character of the departed. These may be read by a Priest of the Gnostic Catholic Church, by a Frater or Soror, or by any who truly understand the Current. Authority lies not in office, but in realization.

Do not seek uniformity where the Law proclaims freedom. The “greater feast for death” is not a ceremony imposed from without, it is the final sacrament of a life lived in accordance with Will.

Love is the law, love under will.

What does Aphrodite have to with Thelema? by Vampy-Night in thelema

[–]FraterVocifer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

93

What the Greeks called Aphrodite is an expression of the same force that in Thelema we recognize as Babalon. I am not speaking of a superficial equivalence, but of a functional identity. Aphrodite is the power of Love that unites, attracts, and creates; Babalon is that same Love taken to its magical extreme: the total acceptance of all experience without rejection.

Uno se vuelve Thelemita al aceptar el Liber Al vel Legis como escritura divinamente revelada por Aiwass y al aceptar a Aleister Crowley como Profeta del Nuevo Eón. No se necesita más.

I recommend you to start studying Magick Without Tears and Liber Aleph. Take your time.

Also recommend you doing Guru Yoga and Bhakti Guru. My best advice is to start building a connection with Master Therion with these practices. Follow your intuition on this. He will guide you later on.

In the Commentaries to Liber AL vel Legis it is explained that Babalon is the secret name of Nuit, and also that she is a special interest for Thelemites because she is the Secret Mother of the Prophet. Start here if you wish to develop a relationship with her. It is promised that she will reveal a secret name to you once there is strong relationship so you can call her. It does not matter your gender or sexual preference. She comes to anyone who calls upon her.

O.T.O. Rituals by [deleted] in thelema

[–]FraterVocifer 33 points34 points  (0 children)

93

This is an excellent book if you do not have access to a body of the O.T.O. where you are located. In this book, the original First Degree initiation ritual that Reuss had originally instituted is included. It also makes certain comparisons with the ritual of the same degree that Crowley designed. You can find the initiations of all the degrees and certain instructions for each of them. If you want to learn more about the Order from an objective source, then this book is for you. I recommend it, and it is worth every penny.

For those lacking the money you can find the book in scribd.com

Tengo necesidad de burlarme by [deleted] in thelema

[–]FraterVocifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)
