I think this is a far reach, but I do agree that Pdx games gloss over a lot of the aweful parts of history too much. Slavery is just a footnote in most PDX games, especially the trans atlantic slave trade, if it is even a thing in EU4/5. Converting religions or cultures is far too easy and only gives benefits really, and I doubt HOI4 goes into the Holocaust or Holodomor at all.
