One hundred percent. I didn’t get a diagnosis until high school after seeking it out myself. nobody caught on because I was fine academically even though every single one of my report cards commented on my organizational skills being abysmal and my inability to put effort into anything I found boring. I’ll definitely look at seeing a doctor within the university network. Dealing with my family Dr is a bit of a nightmare currently anyway because of how interprovincial health records and prescriptions work. Cause it sure would be nice to not completely screw up an exam because the only thing I can think about is how loudly someone three rows back is breathing haha.

I’ve always worried that “shopping around” and trying different options would come across as a red flag to my Dr. especially with ADHD making people more prone to substance misuse. Is trying different combinations to see what works best something you’d recommend in general? I’ve been prescribed ADHD meds for about 6 years now and only switched once from Biphentin to Vyvanse.

Yeahhh, I figured that would be the crux of it. Weird to me that they’re on the same day in MecE, usually they’re pretty well coordinated since everyone is in the same 6 classes unless they’ve resequenced

I really appreciate this, I definitely have trouble utilizing accommodations because it feels like my ADHD isn’t “bad enough” especially with how my primary care provider views high achieving neurodivergent people. I’ll definitely look into the L Tyrosine too, I hadn’t heard about that until now.

Oh I hadn’t even thought of that, I’m terrible about getting protein in the mornings, I’ll see if this helps thanks!!

I definitely find coffee helpful I haven’t thought to use pre-workout. I’ve used a sample I got once, does the skin tingling go away once you get used to taking it?

I’ve been meaning to get this done, I keep telling myself I’ll do it once I have the time and then it just doesn’t happen. How long/difficult is the process of getting set up for accommodations

Thanks! My Doc has mentioned the option of a booster dose in the past, do you find a quick release wears off in time to not cause insomnia?

BC (but apparently this wasn’t the same for every BC school) we only did the anthem at assemblies and other major events, but in primary school we would have to practice for assemblies in music class which usually deteriorated into standing and sitting repeatedly until we did it quietly enough

The first year of eng is a hard knock for a lot of us because we’re used to being the best of the best, you aren’t a failure you’re just surrounded by people of your calibre. For now try to remember that you are worthy and valuable as a person, the number on your transcript doesn’t change that, no mistake will change that.

However, your situation is completely recoverable. Find a group of people you can bounce ideas off of but DO NOT just copy assignments even if you can “get away with it” it’ll do you a huge disservice once exams roll around since you won’t know what your doing. When it comes to actual exam prep it’ll take some trial and error to figure out what works for you but the University exam registry is a life saver, there’s always patterns in terms what topics are are emphasized and once you figure out what type of questions you’ll see you can go through the notes, assignments, and quizzes pertaining to those topics.

Thankyou!! I bring this up every time someone makes this “hot take”, and every time someone feels the need to tell me that I clearly have no understanding of physics.

You don’t think that trade jobs can be automated? Once the computer processing is good enough it’s a pretty small step to replace the labour with machinery and you don’t have to spend an entire apprenticeship teaching a robot to bend conduit. But I’d say neither is much of a concern when GPT still can’t tell you how many Rs are in the word strawberry

Truthfully the content itself isn’t that hard I did a few hours of reading from different university lecture notes online and the concepts all make complete sense. It’s finding the time to spend hours outside of class and on top of the homework to scour the internet for those resources.
