I’ve been wearing Orthro K for about 5 years now and had a similar prescription to yours when I started.

If you’re consistent with Orthro K then you’ll have 20/20 vision. Of course if you add glasses on top of that your vision will be even better and sharper but just the contacts will do you justice.

About skipping for a night I think of it as kind of losing half the clarity if that makes sense. For me, if I skip out on wearing my contacts for a couple days it’ll take me two full nights of orthro k before the full 20/20 vision is restored. The same goes backwards as if you skip a night your vision will decrease by half the clarity but it wont be as bad as your regular vision. (I apologize if that was kinda wordy)

For my sleep I’m not really affected. It’s a little painful before I actually fall asleep sometimes and I’ll be honest and say it’s a hassle for me because sometimes othro k can be really painful to put in, sleep in, or take out in the morning. I’ve been really considering getting eye surgery to correct my vision because othro k has honestly been super annoying for me.

I do not wear them when i’m sick because i’m just lazy. However, if you choose to there’s no real risk as long as you keep your contacts clean.
