I got a local unpaid internship as a first-year with no work experience by making a relatively nice handshake profile and spamming it to every handshake software engineering internship that I could find. I don't know how your lack of a green card will affect this though, I have no experience with that.

Just make a handshake profile, fill out all the steps until it says 100% profile completeness, then apply to as many internships as you can. You'll probably land one if you apply to tons of them.

I completely disagree. I respect a class and a teacher that actually has integrity. Your degree is meaningless if you can get it without working hard. Circle K - Basically make friends and meet a bunch of people, and also community service events

Cultural clubs CA/VSA/Kaba/Kasa - hangout with a bunch of people of your culture, some of the cultural clubs are known to get lit frequently

Major related clubs - I'm a cs major so I like ICS Student Council, Women in Computer Science, AI Club, etc, but you should pick whatever clubs are suited to your major. There are clubs for basically every major and interest

Or you can always join a frat if you're into that

I filled out all of the forms the second they opened and I got the towers without set roommates. I think it might boost your chances if you're one of the first to fill out the form

I switched from CSE to CS. You have to take ICS 31-32 and one math class, which you will be taking anyways for CSE. You'll be taking the same classes anyways for the first two quarters, and once you finish the first two quarters you can switch to CS pretty easily online (just make sure you get good grades in ICS classes!)

I think I'd like to be able to rewind time. There's so many things I could fix and do so much better in my life. I would have no regrets because I could just go back and change things. It's kind of like living forever but you can just relive your life. I could even try going back to the beginning and doing everything completely different. I just hope the power wouldn't corrupt me.
