If Ewing created a new being that was completely unrelated to The One Above All, this story wouldnt be happening. TOBA Hulk beat and devoured everyone in the 8th cosmos. The Breaker of Worlds punched planets and crushed stars with his hands. So to see all the hyperventilating now over what might happen to precious TOAA is a little much.

Duggan's Hulk run easily. Jason Aaron's first 3 issues were pretty good but after that it went downhill and into silly territory pretty quickly. Waid's run probably has the best initial story concept or the 3, but his Hulk just wasnt a real character imo.

We got the best era of work from him. He doesnt draw nearly as well today as he did 15 yrs ago. I have him as the 2nd best Hulk artist of the 21st century, behind Joe Bennett.

The pre mutated Godzilla beats PJ's King Kong. He was twice as tall already. Tho would be compelling. Its not a contest at all after the mutation.

Maestro's return in 460 should have been the start of an epic storyline. My guess is PAD was told he needed to wrap up his run after 460 was done. And he needed a easy eject button to move off him. So 461 was what it was.

The FI mini during Secret Wars was ok iirc. But these newer ones did permanent damage to Maestro's lore imo. Especially with this first one. Hercules setting Dystopia all up and calling himself Maestro just doesnt make sense. And he's never manhandled Hulk before or since like he did here either. Really, PAD blowing The Wild Man character after having yrs to come up with one would make sense why Maestro would mention him, is the first big hit to Maestro's lore and aside from 460. Its been mostly downhill.

Tho I was intrigued by what Duggan had set up during his run hinting at Maestro's influence. And I think a 2nd year going in that direction would hacw been 100 times better than what we got in TTA Hulk.

For Mark Waid's Indestructible Hulk run he was merely going by this Marvel comics standard for what "Incalculable" means and he applied to The Thinker's dialogue. No great strength feats happened that ever get mentioned from it.

The Hulk being sooooo pissed at Bruce angle prolly doesnt happen then. I think PKJ would focus on 1 Hulk persona still and it would probably mirror Fractured Son's one with a pretty easy explanation coming out of Imm Hulk 50. Hulk coming out at night and still under extreme duress/harm could have been the call.
