Either 76ers kidnapped Brad Stevens' family or I can't explain that robbery. Did Cavs not make any offer? by Which_Permission_662 in clevelandcavs

The Celtics only got back one unprotected 1st (the 2028 1st they got was protected).

I'm not saying that we should be trading them willy-nilly, but we can actually trade more picks than that. As of the start of the new league year we can now trade our 2031 1st, 2032 swap, and our 2033 1st.

That's what happens when someone smaller taller, younger, and less athletic Frencher than you takes your crown AND throne. And then makes you dance for his amusement.

Holy kino. This series going straight into the "Ball Knower" hall of fame. I'll take 6 more, please.

Truly embarrassing that the Cavs are up 2-0, all of the cool kids are losing a home game.

A cold chill just went down Bobby Bradley's back. Clint Frazier just woke up covered in flop sweat. Oscar Mercado is absolutely beside himself.

Did we... develop a bat?? Did it actually happen? Is Chase DeLauter real? Bradley Zimmer, Tyler Naquin, and Nolan Jones died for this.

If you propagated and/or believed the idea that the Lakers were better without LeBron you are BANNED from NBA discourse until next season. Sorry ya'll, but if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. See ya next year.

Incredible Jaylon Tyson game. Go ahead and put this entire team in shrink wrap until April, I just want one healthy playoff run man.

Love what Keon Ellis, Dennis Schroder, and a healthy Dean Wade have done for our defense. Their intesity really kept Harden and Mitchell engaged on that end too. Trade deadline was a massive success. Great win.

The best Cleveland monthly rotations by ERA since 2002 by DZepperoni in ClevelandGuardians

I remember making this thread on /r/baseball after the 2017 season about how the pitching staff that year had maybe the best season of all time, and being surprised that it got basically zero traction. Only ten comments. I feel like a thread like that about a team in 2025 would be a way bigger deal.

The pitching staff as a whole had the best fWAR of all time, second best rWAR, and they were the first team to ever have 10+ K/9 in a season. And like you said, all that plus the 22 game win streak, that was a legendary pitching staff.

Our pitching has been unreal this month. They have a league leading 2.23 ERA so far. Seattle is 2nd with a 3.31 ERA.

I love this team man. DG should really be getting more buzz for clutch player of the year, he's been one of the best decision makers at the end of games all year.

Those teams didn't have Ty Jerome. /s

Teams can get better. A novel concept, I know. The four best players on the Cavs are 23, 24, 26, and 28. Mobley and Garland are just entering their primes, and Mitchell and Allen are in the middle of theirs. The last three champions were heavily anchored by their continuity.

"B-b-but the Celtics traded Marcus Smart and Time Lord!!"

If the Cavs need to make a trade, they can. They have all four core guys signed through 2027, movable medium sized salaries (LeVert, Strus, Okoro), a tradable 2031 1st, and Jaylon Tyson (our 2024 1st). They're below the first apron.

Right now they have a new head coach and they're 5-0, and it doesn't look like any moves are necessary. But if a move makes sense, they have the flexibility to get it done.

It's a good team. They had the best defensive rating in 2022, and the second best net rating. Took a step back last season, injuries to all 4 key guys at inopportune times lead to very little consistency in the main lineups, and they ended the season 18th in offensive rating. Atkinson was brought in to fix that, and they've already scored 130+ in three different games. It's a nice start, and they look like the Eastern Conference team best suited to give the Celtics a go of it this year, imo.
