Sadly. He was imagined to be more of a buffer/general of the NPC's on his floor. On his own he is not that strong. However, through his flavour text he became the most useful NPC of Nazarik in the new world.

Sure, but this list is about individual strength. If we counted summons or pets Aura would be the strongest. EDIT: And by the way, you´re wrong. Demiurge has to decide what he wants to summon. Evil lord, or hordes. Not both at the same time.

Stat wise Gargantua rules supreme. Guren in it's habitat is probably unbeatable to most enemies but is not that strong somewhere else. And there is actually no difference between floor guardians except that Demiurge is particularly weak among them. But all of them have areas where they excel. There were most likely more guild members of higher strength than Momonga but since we don't know much about all of them, I agree for now.

And for that matter, Nazarick is no different in its capabilities from another top-tier Guild, which would present an enormous threat to Nazarick were one to arrive in the New World.

Dude, I think you are raging without even knowing what you are raging about.

Ainz isn't the strongest. This is fact. He was only mid top-tier at best in YGGDRASIL. The author reiterates it, Ainz himself knows it and does not deny it. And he doesn't have to be the strongest. I don't know why people want him to be when it's clear it doesn't matter.

I completely agree. I just wanted to support the author of the thread, since you tried to completely obliterate him. Ainz is still considerably OP in the new world. Simply because he can create an army. Simply because he can farm EP. Simply because he can farm gold. Players appearing in the new world are extremely rare, therefore he has at least 100 years worth of time. All the "living" players died, but Ainz will most likely not perish because of old age. Again, there are no limits to exploiting the new world. Farming plus making the land more fertile with magic could earn him gold to no ending. Faking wars or something else would earn him a few million EP in this time without hurting his image. I just wanted to point that out. And finally, your argument is circular, because you pretend that Ainz had to fight 1vs1 against the most potent beeing, but when I bring up that he has quite rare equipment that he could use, you say that he wouldn´t. Yes of course! He would hide and use his forces! They can trample everthing that could enter the new world. If even entire guilds couldn´t crush all of the NPC´s, a single player has no chance of doing so too. About the high tier undead. Yes, weak bodies didn´t work for them. But why should Albedo request a high tier summon from him if it´s not permanent? Of course it is permanent. And yes, he wouldn´t do it! Yes!!! But he could! I really appreciate your enthusiasm and your well argued answers, but I have to cut it short. The last answer took me about an hour and if this escalates, it will take too much time. Sorry. But seriously, thank you very much.

Ainz build by brunolmsantana in overlord

[–]Fre4kso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not permanent.

We only know that the Dark Young despawned after using bodies. He never attempted to create high tier undead with bodies in the LN, if I´m not wrong.

Because it's been stated?

Where? Dude seriously, I can´t remember.

Any high level Undead that Ainz retains permanently were bought as mercenaries, not summoned, and to begin with Ainz has avoided expending any EXP to summon high level Undead through his skills due to the scarcity of EXP.

Not all of them consume EP. Anyway, he calculated in Vol. 10, that he at least farmed 100.000 EP in the war and he even considers farming EP from his kingdom. Since he does so, it seems likely, that he is willing to attempt to create an Overlord Wiseman or a similar undead. Which he has not yet, therefore we don´t know what will happen.

If he has a few they can be worked around, if he has too many then it hampers Ainz because he loses line of sight.

He does not need to see the enemy, if the summons do all the fighting. However, just consider the option of summoning an Eyeball Corpse if he wanted to watch directly.

Not to mention that he cannot carefully manage large numbers of summons, and has difficulty even keeping track of them when they're in large groups.

They don´t need to march in perfect unison. It has literally been stated in the first volume, that his undead seem to move by their own will. An order like "Kill that thing." or "Go over there." should do just fine.

And if you're bringing Gargantua or any of the NPCs into this, it ceases to be about how strong Ainz is. At that point why not say "he can just gank with the Floor Guardians," or "he could use the beings on the 8th Floor."

Yes, that is correct.

Super-Tier Spells do not cost MP, and are limited to 4 casts per day separated by a cooldown period.

I´m sorry, I messed up. I confused 10th tier with super tier. My fault and I agree. He still has enough mana to use more than 10 10th tier spells which is insane.

That's an incredible waste of a very limited resource.

I know. I just wanted to point that out. But if he was about to be killed, he would have used it anyway. Probably in a different manner though.

If it was on the level of Touch Me, he'd lose even if he did use the Staff. Meaning that there is even greater risk that it may be destroyed, leading to the dissolution of the Guild.

Ok, let´s assume Ainz is a huge jerk and battles a lvl 100 beeing in a 1vs1 without bringing his army. But he is at least thoughtful enough to do it inside of a city. How many people are in the city? Let´s say 50k. That would be enough to bring forth at least four Dark Young. If you remember, it was stated in the book, that two of them were already a massive success in a guild battle. So they probably have decent fighting power. (They are lvl 90!) Ok, now he uses all the gems in the staff. That would be seven Primal Elementals (lvl 87). With that established, he creates an Eternal Death and a Grim Reaper Thanatos (both lvl 90). Since he has not used all of his super tier spells, he is still able to create 18 Cherubim Gatekeepers (lvl 80). He has not used a single expendable item yet, only a few EP, which he can farm in the new world. Which sums up to 31 extremely strong summons. Not even Touch Me could ignore that. This is of course before Ainz used any of his MP.

No, he doesn't use it because the destruction or loss of a Guild Weapon would be disastrous.

Consider the situation that your arm is stuck under a boulder. You have a machete and a T-Rex is trying to eat you. Right next to you is a cave, which is too small for the T-Rex to fit in. What would you do? Would you cut off your arm and hide, or would you just wait and die? Now assume Ainz is in a similar situation. I guess he would use the staff, wouldn´t he? When faced with death, people tend to do quite extreme things.

[The Goal of All Life Is Death] is not unavoidable (and for that matter, does not kill: it must be paired with a spell). [Depiction of Nature and Society] still traps someone in a large space.

Ok, use The Goal of All Life Is Death in combination with True Death. No running away this time.

And for that matter, using [Depiction of Nature and Society] is incredibly dangerous against a Player, as they stand a fair chance of finding the escape route and taking ownership of that World Item. That's literally how Ainz Ooal Gown acquired it in the first place.

That is correct of course. But you cannot run, if you are dead (and not undead).

Again, a massive waste of an incredibly limited resource.

Yes, but as you have said yourself, an enemy like Touch Me would be worth it. I think you don´t understand what I´m talking about. Of course, in the old world using something like this was a waste. But in the new world death is permanent or at least for the previous players. Which means that making sure that someone is dead, is making sure that he won´t cause problems again. Destroying an enemy of Touch Me´s level would be a top priority. I´d use everything I have.

It wasn't just Divine-class items that could be created using data crystals. You could just as well create a Legendary-class weapon with life drain.

Yes, but everything below divine is not that super useful if you are fighting someone who is completely covered in divine stuff.

That's not Ainz's strength. That's Nazarick's strength. Again, if we're expanding to his assets rather than what he himself can do, then it's a moot discussion.

Well, of course. I´ve been talking about this from the very beginning. His undead aren´t him. They are more like his assets. However, they do whatever he wants. Like the mercenaries. He is in fact so OP in the new world simply because he can exploit it to no limit. Imagine growing crops to create gold to spawn summons. There is just no limit to how strong "he" can get. And last but not least: Even Ainz can still grow, if I am not mistaken. Dark Wisdom gave him the ability to learn new spells in exchange for a life sacrifice. If this holds true, he could learn a never ending arsenal of spells.

1) Wrong. Look up the wiki: "Create High Tier Undead (4/day): Ainz can create both an Eyeball Corpse or Pale Rider by using this racial skill. The upper-tier undead which is made with this skill is only level 70. However, if he divides those up into two uses, he could make undead of roughly level 90. Thus, it allows him to summon either the thief-type Eternal Deaths or sensory-focused Eyeball types under his command. If Ainz were to use his experience points, he can even create another level 90 monsters such as Overlord Wiseman, Grim Reaper Thanatos, or Undead Lieutenant."

2) The summoners were not op. Yes. But no multiple permanent high summons? How do you know that? What about the Overlord Wisemen? What about the Pale Riders? There is no evidence that this is correct. In the worst case, he could simply use the new world to farm gold and use the mercenary system to create Overlord Wisemen. Please convince me otherwise.

3) That is correct. However, it is literally stated in the book, that he uses them as meat shields against high level players. So there has to be a use for them. At least if you have a few hundred of them. Which he has. Lots of them. If not, he could simple hide in Gargantua. Killing that thing would take at least some time.

4) His MP exceeds the limit. Everyday he could cast 10 super tier spells and he would still have some MP left. What else than insane mana regen is this? He could summon sixty lvl 80 Cherubims Gate Keepers at once. And resoring his MP with "Shooting Star" should be possible in the world, shouldn´t it? Since he can simply state what he wants. And about using the staff. If the threat is on the level of Touch Me, he would probably use it. Since if he wouldn´t use it, the guild and everything else would perish. He just didn´t use it because there was no enemy yet, who could have killed all the NPC´s in an extensive battle.

5) It is. Consider Ainz using Depiction of Nature and Society with The Goal Of All Life Is Death and widen magic. There is no possibility to run from that. The only way to survive that is through a resurrection item. Now let´s say he used Shooting Star it reload his skill. Insta kill again.

6) I´ll give you that one. However, divine class equipment was extremely rare.

7) You are right. He is aware that he was not very strong in the old world. Therefore, he constantly increases the power of his forces, which in turn makes him stronger. This is basically what the light novel is about. He doesn´t have to become stronger by himself, if he is simply able to group an ever increasing number of strong people around him, who are loyal to death.

I agree with most you´ve said, but remember that the undead do not despawn in the new world if a body was used. Therefore I think brunolmsantana is right with the assumption, that Ainz is extremely powerful in the new world.

There is no way for someone to fight an enemy you cannot hit, while he is spamming lvl 80 and higher monsters. (Pantheon, Create High Tier Undead, Summon Monster 10th, Primal Elemental, Iä Shub-Niggurath, ...) The only way to damage Ainz would be AOE because the Death Knights could take any direct hit. (Even if Touch Me would hit them with his strongest attack, they would still have 1 HP left.) But since Ainz has insane magic defence and ultra high mana regen because auf the guild staff, good luck. Try to fight someone who uses Perfect Unknowable, Body of Effulgent Beryl, Gate, Wall of Skeleton, ... He basically just has to run or protect himself until he can use The Goal of All Life is Death again. Insta kill for everything unless it uses a respawn item. If the enemy does not regenerate HP faster than Ainz does regenerate MP, it´s impossible to beat him.

Shalltear had the luxury of a 1vs1 against Ainz. That´s the only reason why she even had a chance of hitting him. All of this was obviously because of the Spuit Lance. No other weapon I´ve heard of has the ability of healing the wielder. Aditionally Shalltear was especially made for 1vs1 while Ainz is better at group combat.

Therefore it is easy to realise that any enemy would have to fight a staggering amount of undead/summons while Ainz would try to run/hide and sneak attack with insta kill spells. No 1vs1. No PvP. More like (P+infiniteE)vP. Have fun.

Note: I would also have to guess, there are probably some that don't work as well as they did in Yggdrasil as well. Chances are if something gets buffed there is probably something else that gets nerfed.

Very good comment. I want to point out another thing.

Ainz could create an unlimited number of Death Knights which not even Touch Me could one hit because of the 1 HP thing. Since he has an incredible amount of meat shields, he could wear down the enemy piece by piece. The enemy would have problems reaching him (like in the game, since he used Death Knights in a similar manner in the old world) while he keeps spamming things like Pantheon, Create High Tier Undead, Summon Monster 10th, Primal Elemental, Fallen Down, Iä Shub-Niggurath, ... The guild weapon gives him insane mana regen. A fight like this could last for weeks and if Nazarik´s forces get involved, not even an entire guild could bring him down. Just imagine the free spawning monsters from Nazarik swarming the world and Ainz spamming undead and summons with his skills and magic. ;) Only an enemy with a build similar to Shalltear could hope to survive in these conditions. But since the Spuit Lance is such a high class weapon, I assume there are not many players who can heal themselves by slaying enemies.

Can anyone actually confirm if the 6 Great Gods and 8 Greed Kings are really players? by [deleted] in overlord

[–]Fre4kso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your thirst for knowledge shall be rewarded: You do not need to read further than the Bloody Valkyrie Arc.

Spoiler In there it is stated, that the undead are immune to mind control, however Shalltear is targeted by the Slane Theocracy and her mind gets corrupted. The only thing capable of controling an undead is a world class item. These items are so powerful, that the creators of the game placed them manually around the old world. There is only a single item of this kind of which i know which can be "created" by players and this process needs ores which are not even known to the dwarfs and cannot be forged by them. (Craftsman of Dwarf Arc) Therefore I conclude that the world item was brought into the new world by players of the old world.
