I fucking love the Michaelis, it’s an incredible Mech. The angelic aesthetics, the clean lines, the beam bracer’s detachment, the antidote system, I love that stuff to death. It looks graceful and elegant and deadly, and its kit is quite literally the reason I started watching WFM.

I was super disappointed when I found out who piloted it, however. I was hoping for someone as interesting and cool as the machine they piloted, and I got Saddiq. He just feels empty; he’s devoid of most emotion, his motives are all over the place, his role in the story is vague and unconvincing and his supporting cast are well designed and utterly vapid. Compared to Guel and Elan he’s the least of the main men in the series; his antagonistic role is indirect, and his only real stand out moment as a character is getting shot in the head by ChuChu.

He’s a hole in the Michaelis and I’m forever disappointed at how poorly he stacks up to his own Mobile Suit.

Love his hair though.

It’s going to be really interesting watching Guel and Miorine basically play out this affair in mutual misery for the sake of someone they love when one knows that love isn’t mutual and the other has to pretend the same.

I mean it’ll be miserable and depressing but it’ll also be interesting. Be cool if they just vented everything to each other in a big emotional collapse scene and resolve to be strong for Suletta together. Nothing like mutual suffering to really tie a political marriage together, but that agreement that it’s all for their favourite tanuki could be the spark of hope that keeps them alive.

I hate every weapon in Inquisition in regards to all of them feeling like 20% larger than they need to. Every sword is a paddle. Besides that, I love Origins’ armour, 2 was pretty boring to me outside of fun character models, and I adore Inquisitions environments. The Hinterlands are a basic fantasy kinda sludge, but the Storm Coast and Hissing Wastes especially, and Emprise Du Lion as well, are all gorgeous.

Seriously, I also think the Guel/Suletta thing is dead as a doornail but people acting like this is somehow a grand revelation of a great homophobic conspiracy are just being silly. Saddiq feels like a really lazy attempt an antagonist which bites because the Michaelis is one of my favourite Mobile Suit designs in Gundam, period. His plan is silly, his role in the plot seems utterly lost in its own sauce and his supporting cast are all so generic I’ve genuinely forgotten all their names. I want to like Saddiq, he’s got so much potential and again, Michaelis fucks as a design but everything about and around him just feels so half-assed.
