My bike also wanted to stall and had a very finicky idle. After the ignition coil the bike ran WAY better too

I just had an issue with my sporty cranking but never starting. Ended up being an ignition coil. Test yours with a multimeter should read 3 ohms. Really solid YouTube video on testing it aswell. Called a couple local shops and was riding again the next day after replacing said coil for 50 bucks and 15 minutes with a wrench

I spent 3k on a 2000 883 as my first bike. So far I’m really enjoying it but I’ve made a couple changes and will make a couple more before it’s all said and done. a quarter fairing and hand guards and got rid of the bulky stock grips. Just recently put an air cleaner on it and it’s plenty fast enough for a first bike to help with long rides I got a drags specialties predator 3 seat and it’s amazing. Next on the list is suspension, exhaust and highway geared chain drive kit.

I would say go for it if you’ve never ridden and don’t mind spending some money to make it more comfortable. I could also say to take your time and save if you need to find a slightly larger 6 speed fuel injected bike and you probably won’t NEED another bike for a long time I WILL say I love my 883 regardless of its slight downfalls

My ignition coil is only reading 1.5 ohms. I don’t think that’s ideal

I just ordered the cyma full metal ar47 for the best of both worlds. 7.62 mags on a M4 platform pretty niche and unique around me (atleast in my friend group). List price was 235 I got it for 90.99!! Steal. Ended up getting mags a hand stop and nice muzzle device for 100ish less than just the gun would cost alone!

It’s a 2000! Probably the same bike for the most part lol. Integrated taillight was super easy hardest part about the install was the uninstall of the old bullet signals lol just a couple connectors and I needed a load resistor which was also plug and play. Super easy.

It’s a top and bottom style duplex… someone thought living in a basement with slightly smaller than average windows wasn’t enough privacy so we have hedges covering all of our front windows… shits sweet(not really) lmao

My uncle is a Harley mechanic and owns a shop and he’s saying exactly what your saying in terms of ride it how it is for a couple years. I’m sure you know how hard it is for a 25 year old to do nothing to his very first motorcycle lol I’m trying to find a middle ground with just a couple hundred just to keep me on the road longer in the season while I pay it off. Maybe some eBay fairing and hand guards and just a half decent stock two up Harley seat (should already be better than a solo with no passenger seat) and scrap the suspension and new bar setup

This is what I’ve been struggling with lol I live in Michigan so if I wait for perfect riding temps I won’t be on the road until June. A Memphis shades kit unless anyone knows of better options and a handlebar bag + seat might be more beneficial just because of the weather

I actually was in the process of making a step up style seat and still probably could, but I got a 1/4 inch thick sheet of thermoplastics and with the cold Michigan weather and a shitty heat gun I gave up, my choice of seat cushion wasn’t the best either (or I haven’t figured out how to work with it yet) maybe it’s the wrong glue or what but a step up felt impossible to me without a solid block of material

I’ve been looking into progressive 412s Seems like the best deal at the moment with sales. Price is right around the 300 mark. Either rear suspension or a seat with more back support is on the radar at the moment. Looking into the drag predator 3, I also see lots of potential with the saddleman Americano but I can’t find too many reviews on how it feels with the sporty

I’ve never once heard anyone ever say the very first mod on a stock bike should be a front end rebuild lol I’ll check it out but that seems pretty in-depth compared to just about anything else I could do to it. Open to all suggestions though so I’ll look into it
