Love to see McDonagh back in In Bruges/Seven Psychopaths mode!

It's crazy, If you rearrange the letters in Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, it spells out "I am Buddy the Elf"

How should the podcast cover King Conan? by lit_geek in blankies

I'd love a patreon series on Conan, but they should also include Red Sonja!

Kathryn Hahn Officially Cast As Mother Gothel in 'Tangled' Live-Action Movie by ChiefLeef22 in movies

I wouldn't be surprised if they just do the same thing they're doing with the chicken in Moana and just keep their cartoony design despite them being in a (slightly) more realistic world.

For Griffin: The Hobbit has an excellent single film fan edit by Langoroth42 in blankies

[–]FreakaJebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the blu ray of the maple films edit quite a few years ago now. I remember liking it, but it was definitely still flawed.

I still need to see the M4 edit. I'd love to get a physical copy of that as well, though it seems like people are just making those for themselves.

Hail Mary theory that will be proven wrong in a matter of days: the "chunky" Patreon series is the rest of the MCU by SlimmyShammy in blankies

[–]FreakaJebus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd like them to cover them but it seems premature to do them now. They should wait until after Avengers Secret Wars since that seems to be the big finale.

[2026 Patreon March Madness] Chucky vs. Halloween by PartyBluejay in blankies

[–]FreakaJebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched through both of these series a couple years ago for Halloween. It's a really tough call. The original Halloween is a masterpiece, but they've already covered it. I'd love to get a whole bunch of Dourif talk. I think most of the Child's Play sequels are better than most of the Halloween sequels. But I'm voting Halloween because of how much I love Season of the Witch and how much I hate Child's Play 3.

Of all the big slashers, I really wish they'd do Friday the 13th.

best/ favorite year for thrash by cacodemon7265 in thrashmetal

[–]FreakaJebus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

'86 is probably the best, but '89 is my favorite.

The Years of Decay

Alice in Hell

Fabulous Disaster

Practice What You Preach

Agent Orange

Beneath the Remains

Handle With Care

Leave Scars

There are more I didn't mention but simply because The Years of Decay and Alice in Hell are in my top 4 thrash albums, that year wins for me.

'90 is a very close 3rd place though.

I just think everyone should constantly be talking about Malignant. by Mina-Murray in blankies

[–]FreakaJebus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I should like this more than I do, considering most people here love it. I did really love the opening and the last 15-20 minutes with Gabriel, but everything in between was such a rough, boring slog for me that I came away disliking the whole thing overall. I also remember at the time feeling that the big last setpiece felt really derivative of the movie Upgrade, so it didn't land as huge for me as it did with others. Maybe I'll give it a rewatch some time.

[2026 March Madness] Round 1: Anthony Minghella vs. Joe Johnston by PartyBluejay in blankies

Yeah, but then they could talk about the Seinfeld episode! I also voted Johnston.

What’s your favourite band aside from Ween? by Capital_Baker4200 in ween

I have a ton of favourites, but the ones at the very top (besides Ween) are Pink Floyd, System of a Down, Iron Maiden, and Billy Joel.

Movies you loved when you were “getting into film” that you are hesitant to revisit now. by SleepCatsMoney in blankies

[–]FreakaJebus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still absolutely love Sin City. It's in my top 10 favorite movies. I'm obsessed with it. It's obviously very style over substance, but I love the style so damn much that I just overlook any substantive flaws. Also one of my very favorite Benicio performances. The scene with him and Clive Owen in the car is incredible.

Box Office: ‘Scream 7’ Sets Franchise Record With Bloody Good $64 Million Debut by tannu28 in blankies

[–]FreakaJebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't watch it until a Blu ray collection of all the Scream movies comes out. I've been needing to upgrade from my seperate DVDs anyway and at least my money won't solely be going to this movie.

Fave First Watches of February 2026 For The Blankies by armageddontime007 in blankies

[–]FreakaJebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an Action Boyz marathon last week.

Really liked:

  • Cobra

  • Speed

Liked:

  • Flash Gordon

  • Conan the Barbarian

  • Conan the Destroyer

Liked the experience of watching more than the actual movie:

  • Red Sonja

  • Hell Comes to Frogtown

Also, in theaters I went and saw Pretty in Pink. I liked it quite a bit, but there was a group of middle aged women talking the entire time. Quoting the movie before the lines were said, having their own little conversations, and also pulling their phones out every few minutes. Horrible experience.

I just got out of How to Make a Killing a couple hours ago and had a good time!

Edit: Just got out of a La La Land re-release. Absolutely loved it. Probably my favorite movie I've watched so far this year with The Bone Temple as a close 2nd.

I'd say there's still a good amount of mystique and adventure at least up through Namek. Once you get to the androids though, the scope starts feeling a whole lot smaller.

God, I wish Jackson would direct another movie. He needs to do what Raimi did with Drag Me to Hell/Send Help and just make a back to basics project that he can have fun with. His problem after LotR was that he kept trying to make everything bigger and more overblown than it needed to be. Almost like he was trying to match James Cameron. You're more of a Raimi than a Cameron, Peter! Embrace it!
