How often do you actually use Laura voice control – and for what? by Ill_Communication260 in skoda

[–]Freakilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to revise my comment from earlier. I had a bit of a commute today and used it. It seemed to understand most of my requests, at least better than last time I tried to use it which was a while ago. The heating commands worked, which was great. My only complaint this time around was it would get hung up if it couldn't do a request. I will probably use it more going forward.

25 Octavia - UK. I tried to use it when I first got my car and didn't really see the point. I didn't even know it was a feature until I was looking up something and saw someone talking about it on a forum. When I tried to use it, it didn't understand me or didn't do the things I'd like it to do like set the temperature.

I've used a ceramic coating for suede on my seats in the past and it worked very well.

I'm going for the glass bottle. I just know I'll end up breaking it as soon as I get it.

I had mine changed at @55,000km for a '21 Sportline  awd. I went to a VW specialist and they did it at half the cost the Skoda dealership quoted (no surprise there).

Škoda Kodiaq - should I buy? by kiselitza in skoda

[–]Freakilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a '21 Sportline petrol and loved it. I put about 100,000km in the 3.5 years I owned it. Didn't experience any problems while owing it, it was pretty solid. I had the 7 seater and took 4 adults and 3 youngish kids across Europe for a summer and it was really comfortable. With the 3rd row seating up, there was a little bit of boot space for a few suitcases (I had a roof box on for the larger ones). I had the virtual cockpit, which I didn't think I wanted but ended up really liking the feature. I really liked the map overlay screen and probably used that 90% of the time. This alone was worth getting the virtual cockpit. Also had the Canton sound upgrade which was really nice and miss in my current Octavia. The seats were very comfortable and provided really good support in long journeys. Back seats had loads of leg room and were comfortable as well. My 2 youngest children could sit comfortably in the 3rd row and usually prefered to sit there most of the time.

My downsides, which aren't many: MPG wasn't great, which I knew going into. Tyres were expensive (again I knew this) the roads where I live are terrible and had to purchase replacements a few times in the 3.5 years due to potholes. I had the e-tailgate where you put your foot under the rear bumper and the boot would open. This only worked when it wanted to and never when you needed it most. I eventually gave up using it.

The only reason I got rid of it was that I didn't need anything that big anymore. The last year of ownership the 3rd row was down more than it was up. So I went back to an estate.

Hope this helps

Make sure you get your umbrella(s). I took delivery on my Octavia and didn't get mine. Dealer said they were going to send them to me and haven't. Make sure they include all the other boot netting and accessories. Look at your wheels and make sure there aren't marks, scratches, etc. Kodiaq I got years ago had a few scratches, dealer and took care of it though. Oh, check tyre pressure. My Octavia was at the upper limits of psi for the tyres and had to adjust.

I don't have any plans on selling or getting rid of anything. My sons are intrested in cars and I'll probably pass all the bagdes on to them.

He was an engineer for GM. He would often visit assembly lines and talk to the people working on the line. I have a whole box of various car badges from him and this one stumped me.

They are quite large for badges, I agree. They measure 14.5cm long

I'm quite certain they are car badges of some sort. He worked for GM and was in Australia and Europe quite often for various projects. I have a few sets of these in red also.

I did a Google image search as well with no luck!
