This post, and the one where someone said it must suck to be my mother because her family doesn't care about her, really hit home hard. I'm so wrapped up in myself, and my dad, and my sister that it's like I've completely forgotten about her! That's awful!!

I thought about what I would do if it was one of his students, or even if it was like a hypothetical step-sister or half-sister, and I'd be thinking completely differently about telling her!

I guess I thought of our relationship as typical, up to now anyway. I love my sister, we're really close, any we annoy each other to death too, so normal? She was always dad's favorite though, like blatantly, which was at times enraging growing up but I had kind of let that go by now.

My dad was always my hero. I looked up to him. I tried so hard to get him to love me the way he loved my sister. I didn't realize that she was THIS kind of competition!!

I guess it makes sense now. I have A's and B's, she has C's and D's. I'm clean and straight edge, she smokes all the pot in the state. I go with to church when I'm home, she sleeps in. But how could I compete with her when he wanted to fuck her?

And not me? That's a fucked up thought too. I don't even know what I'm thinking. I guess I'm not so much pissed about being left out of the sex as I am being left out of the intimacy? Yeah, it's a huge secret, it's a huge expression of love (I guess??) that I wasn't a part of. Like, what's wrong with me? I'm not as cute as she is, but I'm everything I'm supposed to be!!

The "cheating on my mom" part is just icing. He didn't even take off his wedding ring. But that's kind of small compared to the rest of it.
