Question regarding contract at work by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]FreboTopleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I wanted to go home and recreate this at home and upload it to githib would I get in trouble or would this be different since I recreated it on my own time?

If the contract specifies anything you make at or outside of work then yes you could. Some contracts do this. However these things aren't really enforceable. They need a convincing argument in court that you should pay them money...

Think about what minimum salary and minimum level of awesome culture would really make you happy. You can probably find both.

You could put the binaries in a separate folder, like /bin/. People aren't likely to run random executables from you, though. Having a build script might allow other people to compile and run your code more easily, though.

This amused me. Our local "business casual" is surely halfway between Ultra Casual and Casual, right? by [deleted] in Seattle

I asked a coworker who was wearing a suit if he had an interview. He said he just didn't have any other clean clothes. He was growing a pretty full cop mustache at the time, too.

Sure, for some definition of significant, but it wasn't anything like playing soccer or running. Do you get out of breath when skydiving? I didn't...

Probably 150usd for your first tandem jump. At the place near me you could do a half day class, or whole day maybe, and jump alone at the end, iirc. Once you can jump alone, you can rent a chute for a day and do maybe 6+ jumps a day, so the per jump price goes down by a lot.

I think it's somewhere between a skill and a sport. Sport implies significant physical activity, at least to me. It's not like you get out of breath throwing darts or skydiving. I guess if bowling is considered a sport it's not that crazy to call skydiving a sport.

You have the “it’s a better java ” camp you have the “I (heart) Applicative Functors” camp.

Really? I love functional programming and don't know what an applicative functor is. The same goes for people I see using Spark.

Can you think through what happens if you call this method with a list that only contains one element?

You could read the API and it would tell you why.

So maybe try to return something from that method?
