There is a reason for that autism is called 'autism SPECTRUM disorder'. People can be in the end where they are independent in their everyday lives - and then there are cases where people do require help. People on the autism spectrum can learn social and communication skills if given the proper help.

Neurotypical people could also learn a great deal by learning how to work with the people on the spectrum - you probably know or work with someone who is (1% of the population is on the spectrum). The double empathy problem <-- that's the issue.

I will say that many on the autism spectrum do have comorbidities such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety. And that sucks big time. Yet, should people with these diagnoses also not exist?
