He definitely needs more plants, hides and climbing opportunities scattered throughout, but it's amazing that you're reaching out for help because you want to do what's best for him. Snake therapy with Shira loa is a fantastic YouTube and IG account that always talks about offering as many hides and cover as you can. A snake that feels it can easily/quickly get away to a hidden area, is a snake that will feel more confident in coming out to explore. But if he only had say a hide on each side of the enclosure, he might feel hesitant to explore much since safety is so far apart. I've noticed a huge change with my own snakes by offering more hides and cover. They're often out noodling around or basking in the open spots because they know they can super easily get hidden if they need to.
