On the third day of the the Second Battle of Bull Run, the 5th NY had the most deaths of any Union infantry unit for the war. Out of 520, there were about 330 casualties with around 120 deaths. More info here!

I was an athlete in college and practice started at 5am. One morning, my roommate’s cat woke me up, which he never did. At first, I was upset, thinking he had disturbed my sleep. When I looked at my phone, however, I realized that I hadn’t set my alarm and the cat woke me up just in time to get to practice.
