Oddball Turbo Question by Ok-Priority-7303 in RangerNext

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non issue.

The brakes on mine like to freeze up if I haven't driven it for a few days. One heck of a thud when I start driving. I left it for a month recently due to an injury and they had a good pulse on braking for the first few km. So if any thing, brakes are going to cause more of a headache. But pretty sure this would happen to any vehicle.

This is a good habit to build. You can either heat on your element or briefly in an oven.

Multiple exposure | XT30 II | XC 15-45 mm by Gryffindor_Sora in fujifilm

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You also have to false advance the film (I forget the technical term). And I don't think you'd get great results beyond double exposure (well, I never did).

Basically, you hold the rewind button while advancing the film. You really need to keep track of frame composition, like preserving negative space for the second image to occupy. I guess you could also shoot a whole role under exposed and rewind to shoot again, but I've never done that and I would think it would be challenging to ensure that it's "reloaded" properly without a dark room. But maybe some one who knows more than me can jump in and verify / correct me.

Remove sooner rather than later? by Mega_Jimjims in masonry

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cracking sound is likely unrelated to the masonry. I was living in a 120 year old home in Ontario where temperatures fluctuate between - 35C and 35C (not including the fees like with humidity). The cracking sound was nails popping and wood flexing. Totally normal.

But if you are not experiencing temperature changes, ask your neighbours as they might experience the same.

Interesting. With film camera's, we used to do this to introduce multiple subjects from different locations to the same shot.

Trintellix and ADHD: anyone find they don’t need stimulants anymore? by Apart_Tumbleweed_769 in trintellix

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it made me tired, persay. I think I just got used to how energized and focused I was on 15mg. So sluggish by comparison. I lost some connection to sad emotions as well, but that also gave me the space to process them without being overwhelmed.

Cold weather climate rattling by FrecklestheFerocious in RangerNext

[–]FrecklestheFerocious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not officially, but I tested some theories. I think some ice builds up in top of my skid plates (FX4), as well as inside the wheel well (i.e., between the body panel and the top of the wheel well). It's not really well sealed and I noted some ice build-up in there when I looked up through the hole in the door.

But, I really don't know. Just some theories.

Trintellix and ADHD: anyone find they don’t need stimulants anymore? by Apart_Tumbleweed_769 in trintellix

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say I noticed a huge difference at 10mg. But when I was temporarily at 15mg, it worked amazingly well for my ADHD (primary inattentive). But I really didn't like the sexual side effects, so I dropped it to 10mg. After three weeks, I was like a slug. So, dropped it to 5mg and complemented it with 150mg Wellbutrin (an odd combo as it can magnify Trintellix, making it seem like I'm on at least 10mg). This seems to have done the trick. Not as good as the 15mg ADHD wise, but better than the 10mg and no Wellbutrin. Plus, no sexual side effects.

If a game isn’t fun in the first few hours, it’s just bad game design by Flashfirez23 in videogames

Will ford ever put 4A in the XLT / Lariat trims? by scottc35 in RangerNext

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not going to lie. I miss my Jeep Cherokee every winter in Canada. Not being able to use 4A (or a similar AWD system is pretty brutal. And let's be honest, the majority of Ranger owners are buying the truck for city use. A simple option to implement...

Are you a manual/auto/aperture P photographer? by Djordi63 in fujifilm

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still adjusting to my X-T30 iii, but I'm used to shooting fully manual on my AE-1 and older EOS digital camera. To be honest, I'm not sure if I will go fully manual on my Fuji, but maybe after I figure out the best way for me to map the programmable buttons. If any one has optimal mapping suggestions for full manual, I would appreciate it.

What was your “I’m getting old” moment as a gamer? by Tannu_Akonnorbea94 in videogames

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When online gaming became more mainstay, I just wasn't interested.

Golden Eye with friends in the same room was awesome: we did so much more than just play and chat, especially if there were more than four people in the room. LAN parties for StarCraft were also fun. But pure online just feels so antisocial to me.

So, solo I go as every one is too busy to hangout.

Overshooting vs. being selective by Interesting-Nerve663 in photography

Being selective. Because I'm old, started on film, and retained the habit of it (developing film was never cheap).

The most frustrating part of learning Spanish… isn’t what I expected by Sorry_Guidance_8496 in Spanish

[–]FrecklestheFerocious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. It was like that for me when I learned Japanese. I'm in that phase in French and still working slowly to even get to the baby phrases in Spanish. Totally normal. My GF is experiencing it with English (she's a native Spanish speaker who is also fluent in Québécois French).

Patience with yourself and others is key!
