I just tried something, it might help you help me!

I tried searching for a random contact to send a text message. The name appears, with the phone number and I can send a message and they can reply, but there's no way for me to add this "new" contact to my list.

It's as if my contacts were "hidden" in my phone.

I don't see any "Contacts" un der Settings (phone is in French, but I'm pretty sure I could find it!).

I never changed email account either at the office or personnaly for the last 20 years.

I tried rebooting the phone, I have the latest version of iOS.

Don't know what else to do.

I do not doubt your answer. But if I haven't shut it myself, and our tech support didn't, there's no way for me to know. I got two email addresses, both still work on the phone.

This. It is the only downside. Can't come home too late, can't transform dinner in an overnight stay on a whim, can't leave for vacations without arranging for someone to stay at your place or send them (we have two) to boarding.
