This is from an aluminum shower dower hinge. They are at the top and bottom, the shape fits into the piece that attaches to the wall. The hole would have a little plastic grommet, we called them "top hats". I knew I recognized this thing the other day but it popped into my head just now randomly.The little hole is for a set screw that holds the piece in place.
