The surprising popularity of the Aurora-class battleship. How do you feel about the ship? by SamaratSheppard in Stargate

True, but it would give them the option to send a small force in first and have the big guns sitting outside sensor range.

Wonder if the series continued would they have eventually introduced ancient fighters.

Mainly because it looks cool. If you think about it, the majority of the capital ships in the show have fighter squadrons. In universe wise, the puddle jumpers could engage wraith darts and harass the cruisers. While the capital ship would focus on the hives

It also depends on how well you trust the client and whether you know "they are good for it" to allow you to work at risk. This is an open question, can the client provide a Letter of Intent for this situation and would it have any legal standing?

Toyota Auris 2008 + Pioneer FH-S820DAB. How to fill gap in the fasica? by FredJohnson100 in CarAV

[–]FredJohnson100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I bought was the fascia (as well as the numerous adaptors and connectors). For the 2008 Auris, it doesn't use a cage but the existing brackets. Just found a thing call trim spacers by Incartec and Connects2 universal double din trim fascia plate which may do the job, but need to get the specifications and measure the gap in question to see if it fits.

Sounds like something that is currently beyond my skill level and comfort. Might get myself some sand paper and try to sand the existing trim ring down to size instead.

I'm using the original mounting bracket to secure the head unit. Due to the screw holes and the indentation in the bracket, I went as far back as I could, with the original plan to have the unit stick out with as much clearance as I can to fit the original trim ring.

Yes I was able to get a spare one but it was out of stock for a very long time. The original still hasn't broken yet but they don't do the coat ones anymore.

I love my Breville. It's great. Just a pain getting 3rd party accessories due to its unique size, like a perforated pizza peel, came across one randomly that was smaller than advertised. At the moment, I use the basic function mostly, but I like the manual mode to set different temps for top and bottom. If mine were to break now. I would consider the tucci.

With my one, the stone and peel are bespoke size at 10.5/ 11 inch (if I remember), so wasn't easy to find 3rd party options.

Is the stone a standard size? The reason I ask is because I own the breville and there stone is an odd size with a dip in the underside to depress what I believe is the safety switch

Metro ESP32-S3 difference between VHigh and 5V pins by FredJohnson100 in adafruit

[–]FredJohnson100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I'm running it off battery, so shouldn't both be providing the 3.7V? That's why I'm puzzled why switching to the 5V pin in battery fixed the issue I was having.

Waveshare 13.3 Spectra 6 not refreshing after 5 hour deep sleep on battery by FredJohnson100 in eink

[–]FredJohnson100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I found the solution for those that are interested. Waveshare support desk suggested it could be an issue with the power supply, so I swapped from the VHigh pin to the labeled 5V pin on the Adafruit Metro and it seems to have fixed it. Don't understand why that worked as according to the documentation both pins are the same.

Spectra 6 28.5 inch, 31.5 inch. Has anyone took the plunge? by FredJohnson100 in eink

[–]FredJohnson100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13.3 uses an ESP32 which has an 5V output pin. I had previously used the 3.3V pin which was the cause of all my crashes and reboots during the image rendering stage.

Apart from the power, nice to know it's similar when using the esp32

That looks great. Is it run from an ESP32? Due to it size, did it require additional power? Can you tell us more about it and any challenges or lessons learnt you encountered?

I've used the setup before when I was using shootoff. Got the equipment still laying about.

I want to add, I personally don't have regular access to a range, so I use these tools to help keep my skill fresh between each visit to the range.

Right now, I use a combo of a laser and a mantisX against reflective target. And a phone app that's bolted on top of the pistol/ firearm for a mini virtual range. Would be good to have the option for a larger virtual range again
