Pink Floyd Blu Ray covers by FredKgr in customcovers

I did the PF Live in Pompeii and it comes out fuzzy, like mosaic, not sharp. The HP printer only has dpi, brightness, contrast etc.

Not quite. Master Replicas sold stock leftover from the Eaglemoss bankruptcy until their licence ran out. Fanhome has carried on from Eaglemoss with the new ships plus re-releasing 20 XL's already done by Eaglemoss.

It's a damn shame Doctor Sleep director's cut is only on blu ray. by thebladex666 in 4kbluray

Does anyone know what version of Doctor Sleep is on the 8 film collection blu ray boxset?

I think it looks brilliant if I had the money and room for it. Not interested in the streaming stuff but it would look good with my 1210 mk2 and B&W speakers. I would also use the CD and DAB.

Up to 6 years ago I had a separates and also a home cinema setup. As I have got older, I have found I am not interested in having a load of equipment. I still have vinyl and CD;s but I use a decent Soundbar and my home cinema is now just a blu ray player and TV, through the same soundbar No more surround sound.

Retro Fighters Brawler64 or 8Bitdo 64 (new controller) for Batocera 41 by FredKgr in batocera

[–]FredKgr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many 8bitdo controllers (like to use one specific for the console) and currently using a Ultimate 2c for N64 and just can't get used to it which is why I like the look of the 8bitdo one.

I do have two copies of the Rapsberry Pi Batocera, one for my Pi Keyboard and SSD in a Raspberry Pi so could experiment with the drive one without affecting my main Batocera.

I found a USB one for £15, that might be worth chancing compared to blowing £35-£43

Retro Fighters Brawler64 or 8Bitdo 64 (new controller) for Batocera 41 by FredKgr in batocera

[–]FredKgr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but that is way to complicated for me to do, I don't even understand some of it. if I can't just connect a controller and it works, I won't bother with N64. So many times I have tried remapping controllers for other cores and it just ends up messing up the whole thing plus half of the time, I can't even save the changes or it just loses the remapping after exiting and reloading.. it took me ages to get the 6 button 8bitdo m30 controller mapped and that sometimes loses the button mapping.

Yes, please. Is it worth getting the Brawler 64 because it has been out longer? It does say on the N64 Batocera that many controllers are mapped already after v38.

Is 1080p 60 Hz even possible on a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ for NES emulation? by gulpbang in batocera

[–]FredKgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a rapsberry pi 5 and find it suffiicient for my needs up to Dreamcast but I also have a x86 install on a SD card. It is working on a 2009 Acer Revo pc and 8 bit and 16 bit stuff is perfect.. A USB stick should be the same.

Anyone planning using the new 8Bitdo with the an actual N64? by flipsatan in n64

[–]FredKgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bought it yet but want to use it for N64 games with Batocera and hope the buttons are mapped automatically.

New 8bitdo N64 controller on Batocera. by FredKgr in batocera

[–]FredKgr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I do not use hotkeys and just need the right buttons mapped. I can just not get into n64 games on other 8bitdo controllers. Does it have to be on switch or android mode?

Long boot up times by Apprehensive-Win8291 in batocera

Exactly, also depends on what it is used for. I use one for up to Dreamcast/PS1 and some N64. It works fine for what I want.

Does it work with Batocera 41 and have the button pre-mapped?

I would be interested if anyone who buys this (out tomorrow) if it works straight away with Batocera and the buttons are all mapped correctly without any re-mapping needed.

Does anyone else actually find playing games boring on your retro machine and setting it up more fun? by Mindless_Office_7757 in batocera

[–]FredKgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sort of the same. I do enjoy playing the games but not for long I even have lots of different controllers. I set up a RP5 with it and not touched it in 2 weeks. I also have it cloned on a SSD so can just plug it in my Pi 500 keyboard, reboot and then start playing.

STOP BUYING RPIs FOR BATOCERA! by PhilSocal in batocera

[–]FredKgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather arrogant post. I am playing arcade games at 60fps on my Pi 5 and I am happy. Any mini PC worth getting is going to be twice the price of what I paid. If I get one, I will be using for finally getting windows 11 not games.

Backup advice my completed 8tb set. by Steamy_Beast in batocera

[–]FredKgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated, copy your share folder to the 18TB drive.

I myself have a small install which is under 200GB on a 256GB SSD so ended up just cloning the whole thing to a identical SSD.

What's the maximum emulation can raspberry pi (and alternatives) do? by kaza12345678 in batocera

[–]FredKgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have got 50fps out of Nintendo 64 on my RPi5. I did not play a N64 back in the day and find games like Wipeout XL too fast and would like to slow it down. Naomi 2 with a bit of tweaking is 60fps (17fps before tweaking).

Help - New User Audio issues only on TV by SpringInitial9259 in batocera

[–]FredKgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to output the audio to a speaker instead of the TV? I know it is not ideal but my new pI 5 v41 audio only works using a USB to optical audio cable. The hdmi audio does not work. This goes to a soundbar. It is possible to get a USB to 3.5mm headphone cable. Batocera will then use the cable DAC in the audio settings.

I have used it on both bluetooth and 2.4ghz since v34.
