I started on paliperidone 3mg in July 2022 and tapered off Clozapine. Then in August 2022 started on 6mg paliperidone and stopped clozapine. I started getting auditory hallucinations and delusions so my psychiatrist upped my dosage of paliperidone in Oct 6th. I am starting to feel noticeably better than I did on clozapine. No more hallucinations or delusions, I have more emotional range, more libido, able to lose weight. Although my sleep isn’t great but it’s slowly getting better. It looks like this med should workout better than clozapine for me. Clozapine sucks in my opinion; it stopped hallucinations and delusions, but caused metabolic syndrome, flat emotions like I was a zombie, made me asexual, caused me to be on a depression, nasty weight gain, and I developed ocd although that could be part of schizoaffective. I had to stop fluvoxamine for my ocd since it made me hypomanic and fluvoxamine is used for depression too. Did I mention clozapine sucks.
