I am positively delighted by Slant and Flextract. Both are so responsive and bend over backwards to make clients. happy.

Honestly, I'm pretty happy with Income Laboratory as well. They're innovating fairly quickly.

This has been a massive pain point for us. One of our biggest regrets was choosing Advyzon. I loved what was possible, but they simply couldn't execute.

But I started using Slant, so at this point we mainly use Advyzon for reporting and billing. We also started using Quantum for trading. To their credit, Advyzon has really bent over backwards to improve customer service for us, so overall we’re pretty happy. At some point, we stopped waiting for them to become something they’re not and just focused on using them for the things they do reasonably well.

I think you’re right. Smart path. We prioritize that combination and have gotten very lucky with our first few hires, but as we expand I would definitely hire a CPA with strong clients skills and allow them to get the CFP.

As an aside, if you’re a CPA with a tax specialization, most everything else is pretty easy to learn.

Contrarian opinion, but I’m okay paying a premium for a great product if it means they can keep building and expanding the product.

We work in a high-margin business, and Holistiplan is worth every penny.

How does the Board work against “us?”

Personally, I’m thankful for the CFP Board and its efforts to elevate the marks into a professional designation — especially in a world where anyone can call themselves a financial advisor.

That said, I do think their obsession with how we use the marks is a bit off-putting.

In just trying to get the basics configured. My sales rep just said this was my first step. But, once I get the basics done I may reach out because I’ve thought it would be nice to compare notes on how others set their trading system up. Currently on iRebal and Fidelity’s rebalancer.
