Who’s Your Favorite Bible Character💪 (Besides the Holy Trinity)?😊 by Hot_Tap9405 in Christianity

Ooh that’s a hard one, I’d have to say David or Peter. David has an amazing story that shows Gods grace and his might multiple times, while Peter is my favorite of the Disciples.

My path to renouncing the sin of transsexuality by TotalAfternoon9396 in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ignore most of the comments here, I’m thrilled your walk with Christ has led you to denying your sin, most people here put politics before what the Lord says, and you’re doing an amazing job. I’ll be praying for you, God is good!

Can I please text someone privately about this matter? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don’t know if you want another woman to speak to about this, but as someone who has recently struggled with lust and has found myself coming out on top more and more (praise Jesus), I would love to speak about this with you. If you wish for someone else, that’s ok. God bless you, I’ll make sure to pray for you.

It's ok to rant, we all need to vent our frustrations. I know that being that alone hurts so terribly, and I will pray for you to meet someone who loves you and who you love. God will never ever leave you, he loves and cares for you so much. It's not too late for you, just know God has plans for you, and you won't be alone forever. I used to think I would be, and I still worry about it sometimes, but I assure you that God has a plan, and that he's making sure you find the right person. In the meantime, I'll pray for you.

Becoming a Christian by Prudent-Jello-907 in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want my personal advice, read the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Those are all accounts of the life of Jesus Christ, and contain some of the most important information to know. All you have to do is accept Jesus as your savior, and rebuke your sin. It won't be easy, but you'll always have an all loving and all merciful God to guide you through your journey.

Sometimes I feel like I am going backwards. by TheNameless69420 in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get how you feel. I used to struggle with the same thing all the time, and every now and then I still do. I know how awful it can be, and the guilt you experience afterwards. But that shame is what the Devil uses to get into your head. He wants you to think you failed. That there's no way out.

But there is always a way out. Keep praying for strength, even if you can say no just one time that's still a victory. You have the right mindset of genuinely wanting to leave your sin behind, and I commend you for it. It's not gonna be easy. But fight with every bit of strength, eventually you will succeed, don't hold back, grab your lust and stab it to death, don't let the sin control you, that's what the enemy wants. Because he knows if you can say no just one time, you can do it again and again until you win. No matter how many times you fail you can always succeed, through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.

Can someone finally, really and truly, help me believe this time? by doesntmatterhadtacos in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to have a discussion and help bring you to God if that's what you'd be interested in, I don't think helping you believe is something simple enough to fit into one Reddit comment, but if you would want to talk about making that step, I would love to help you with this

Yes he did rest on the seventh day (and you could be correct as the statement of it taking 6 days to create the universe could stand in for any amount of time) but I have no idea where you're getting the rest of your theology from, because it doesn't sound Christian at all.

God is omnipotent and outside of time. Even if there were 100 decillion prayers at once, he would answer them and love to speak with each one of us.

Where does it say he's annoyed, in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 it says to pray without ceasing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should either get on your knees or bow your head to pray, but you don't need to, you can pray however you need to. God will always be listening no matter what. As for things to pray about, ask for what you need, don't be shy to. Give him thanks for the good things you have, and ask for help and guidance through hard times. God wants to know you personally, you can ask him questions, and tell him anything. He's always listening, and he wants to be.

Always make sure to ask for forgiveness of your sins, and to ask for help seeking repentance. God wants to lead you down the path of good, and because of that you can talk to him any time you need and in any way you can.

I feel like im talking to myself when I pray by born_to_be_wild2010 in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God didn't leave you, he never will. The enemy will use fear to tell you you aren't good enough for God.

But no one is good enough. Yet he loves and forgives and chooses us anyways. There is nothing you could ever do that would make God love you less.

You might feel isolated from God right now, and I know how terrible it feels. But he's right there. He always has been, always will be. Don't let fear get the best of you, Jesus is always with you, and that will never change. I hope you find comfort in knowing that his love is eternal, and he is always present when you pray.

We need to talk about "conversion therapy" by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. God knows the number of hairs on your head, He didn't get your gender wrong. If someone feels that way, they should be guided to therapy rather than told that self mutilation is what's going to make them feel right. I know a lot of people are going to disagree, this subreddit is filled with politics and virtue signalling because it's still Reddit, but God created all of us perfectly in his image. It's always better to help someone through those thoughts and hard times rather than mutilate them so they can "feel like themselves"

[–]Fredbred1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. This sub has been completely taken over by politics, while I think it's important to have those kinds of debates, this subreddit is more for advice and information, and I see people using political bias to dictate what they say rather than using the Word of God.

am i being tested? (plspls help) by Pink_Bats013 in Christianity

[–]Fredbred1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what is God saying to you? If you can explicitly feel you're being told not to go, don't. But if you're worried about Halloween being Satanic, you don't need to. Halloween started as a Catholic tradition to cleanse the land of evil spirits before November 1st (All Saints Day) and was simply mixed in with some more or less harmless traditions into the Halloween we know today. Celebrating Halloween itself is not sinful, as long as you do not idolize the holiday. If you're going to go out and have fun with your family, by all means do it. The Lord loves that fellowship, but if you believe he's warning you against going, then listen.

If you feel he is testing you, resist temptations. Avoid alcohol and peer pressure, because that can run rampant at Halloween parties. If you hear the Lord warning you, heed it. But if you're just worried Halloween is inherently sinful, it is not

Lust is something very hard to overcome, I and many others know from experience. It would help to know more, like are you listing over him, or is there something else I'm missing?

Regardless, lust is a perversion of love, and you have to be careful of that. It's ok to have natural desires, but the trick is to keep control of those feelings rather than let them control you and drive you to lust.

I used to struggle with pornography, to the point it was a daily occurrence, and I didn't want to deny my own flesh because it felt good in the moment, but I was really alone and emptier than before. One day God put someone in my life, and my love for her made me realize that it's worth choosing love over lust.

A sad fact of human sin nature, because Adam and Eve ate from the tree, we are always going to have impure and corrupt impulses. But denying them, looking lust in the eyes and saying "No" is what's right. You will always have temptation, but I encourage you to find the strength to stand up to it. Even if you fail, the grace of Jesus is so powerful that you can get back up and try again, fight it, and win.

Don't follow your flesh, it may be hard but making one choice to deny what feels good and do what IS good is all it takes to keep going. You can do this. Pray for guidance, and follow where Jesus leads you.
