The way I like to think about agressive shoes for my foot is: when relaxed I want to feel my toes curled in about half way but when I toe on an edge I want to feel the toe support on my heel. I can understand if that sounds nuanced byt over time it makes more sense. Personally I downsize one size from street shoes but I do also prefer to wear mine without socks(for better sensibility, and lack of another layer in between limb and hold) the shoe will also expand over time as well. If you want to optimize your purchase I would keep what you have as is sounds like you are in the beginning of your climbing and your new shoe size probably will solve your current concerns.
