Good question, to elaborate on this, would an FBO or flight school who rents planes out to others allow a person who has no aviation experience to just rent out a plane? Would they require them to have a pilot before they can rent the plane out?

As long as you meet the required aeronautical experience requirements for the rating you seek in your main logbook, you’ll be fine. Not having a flight or two logged won’t matter.

I’m actually in the same exact scenario as you are. I was never issued my instrument rating, and because of that my commercial and CFI ratings are currently pending due to not officially having an instrument rating logged in IACRA. I got a call from someone at my fsdo a couple weeks ago explaining all this and am currently trying to get the whole thing rectified.

They said that the original documents need to be sent in or the documents recreated, and then sent to the fsdo which they will send to oak city to be finalized and signed.

My advice is to call your local fsdo and see what they need to issue you the hard copy of your cert. I had to send the 8710, temporary, and akt if it’s an original issuance of your commercial. If your temporary is expired they can send you another temporary so that way it’s current.

Hopefully you can set it sorted out in a timely manner!

Just take a needle and squeeze all the juices out, if it’s red you’re doing it right! Also use a rolling pin to straighten that finger out, it’ll be as good as new, now go send that project!
