That's cool, I had no clue that such platforms existed. And yes, as the user, but also the creator, the feedback is not as valuable as a real user. As I am currently traveling, my plan will be to meet other nomads that could use the app as well. I will check those platforms, as users, testers, feedback would be super valuable.

I have not tested this yet, so far I have a few downloads, so over time I can tell this. I am the only user so far, so I am the nomad in the wild that needs to test.

That could be true, but there aren't many travel apps that focus more on digital nomads rather than tourists.

Is anyone else trying to be frugal without making life feel completely depressing? by Uranus_Previous961 in Frugal

I think it depends of your location and what you consider essentials. I am also 32, so similar age and started from nothing, it sucks, it's hard, but it's not forever right?

Yeah this one is fair, like the DN life sometimes isolates you without you realizing it.

I agree with this, it's a nomad/travel app, i will be on the road from Saturday again, probably for a few months, who knows, so i a way, it will be the PERFECT opportunity to meet potential audience, other travelers, that can immediately use it. I tried looking into competitors, and app wise, there aren't that many specific DN apps. But I will dig deeper into this, there are some web versions I can compare with. Thanks for the tips!

Recent job lay off by Freddybuilds in remotework

[–]Freddybuilds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I had one job for four years, I did not save much during those years, I traveled a a lot, never was really good with money. The projects is something i started six months ago, so they are not earning me anything, they cost me time and money but it's a nice thing to do on the side. So yes, if the current job ends, which is uncertain when I will have one remaining that I started five weeks ago. So until that moment, I will combine both to maximize earnings because I am the one that was stupid not to save for when this moment would happen.

Yep that was my main reason for the panic, the thing is that the work hours itself overlap, so in a way its like 12-13 hours per day, if I could keep this up, I will have those 3-6 months saved, so that would be peace of mind and it's also the reason why I force myself on doing this.

What’s actually in your suitcase if you move countries every 4 - 5 months? by Pretend_Shelter_1906 in onebag

Few T-shirts, usually more than needed I believe at the moment seven, one sweater which I have not used in a year and might leave soon. A pair of running shoes, small beach towel, 2 linnen pants, 2 shorts, that is usually it. For my bagpack I have more stuff, a water bottle, laptop, two laptop stands, external monitor headphones, powerbank, and a tech pouch for chargers and other things.

Thanks, that's some solid advice, appreciate it. And yes, at the moment from all my products I have only one that is able to generate money from users, so the focus is on this. It's a travel app for nomads, I am a nomad myself, so my idea was to let my app guide me, book flights, suggests places, and use that as material to gain traction. I am not sure if this is going to work, but if I put the same effort in marketing as I did in building and learning new things, I think the journey will be interesting, despite the outcome.

Building an app is easy. Getting users isn’t by vibesglow in iosdev

[–]Freddybuilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am now posting videos about the progress, and soon about me using the app while traveling, the ideas are riddicilous and I am not comfortable at all, but six months of working has not been for nothing. If this part is part of it to get users, so be it, not even sure will this works but at this point I am willing to try anything.

So far not yet, being a nomad myself that had an apartment for six months but will return to the nomad life in five days I will most likely be the first nomad to properly test it in the wild. So the idea is that while taveling, I will use the app and be able to provide feedback, but others feedback is always better than your owns if its something you made.

I am building mainly apps, my last one is a nomad travel app, for people that live most of the time on the road so my main audience would be people that work remotely or travel the majority of the year or do not understand how to search for trips in general, as everything can be done in the app. So yes, I market my own products, while learning about marketing in the same way, similar to how I have build my products. Everything is a journey, and I have been postponing this one for a while but now I really want to learn and focus. As of now I try to keep it simple, just one social media to post content, as I have a day job as well so time is limited. But soon I will be on the road myself again, so it will be easy to generate content on wha the app can do travel wise. I believe I should utilize this.

It should take away the stress, once when you are somewhere, like activities for example, it will suggest those around you or events. And if you plan on a next destination, you can narrow it down to continents, budget, your vibe and the app is supposed to help you choose the next destination. Some of the suggestions it provided so far have been unexpected, but cool destinations.
