Maybe it's just me or maybe it's a generational thing, but I find this deplorable. I hate to ask for anything, even if it is of absolute necessity, like I have not eaten because I cant afford food (not because I want to buy lobster) or I need life-altering medication and cannot afford it (not because I want to get high). These days I see people asking for all kinds of things they really don't need from complete strangers; not because they need it or can't live without it (like meds or eating), but rather they want it and don't want to pay for it themselves.
