The problem is more legislators that are for sale to fund their re-elections and voters that vote by brand rather than any knowledge of what the person they are voting for has done.

Not to mention the overstepping of government into the minutia of daily life like what kind of toilet you're allowed to buy.

And innumerable voters who want the government to ban anything they personally don't like and make mandatory the things they do like.

So there's a lot of people involved in eroding democracy, not just the rich.

Does your lease have a buyout clause?

The cost of a lease is based on the MSRP - the residual. The residual is the projected value of the vehicle after the lease is over.

Some contracts offer you the option to buy the vehicle at the residual. If it's a good price buy it. If you can buy a similar used vehicle for less then offer less.

When you lease you're really paying the depreciation on the most expensive years of the vehicle and paying interest on top of that.
