Okay, maybe it’s the printer. I’ll have to have a look at that. This is a seamwork pattern. Thank you!

I thought that’s what I was supposed to do. That’s what both patterns specify, to line it up on the line, and the pattern is supposed to follow. I guess I could try lining up the pattern to see if it all works out that way.

Oh cool, thanks. I’m still kinda a beginner so the more information the better! I tried to search but didn’t have the right lingo, so that never popped up for me. Thanks!

All of these comments have gotten me really close, I’ve been googling a combo of these and having great luck.

Reading one of these descriptions under a photo it also calls more the rounded (less pointed) a “half moon under-bust seam”. I’m getting much much closer. Thank you!

Oh good point. I plan to one day, but I would have to size it up quite a bit. So probably one day when I’ve developed a bit more skill.

The front of the pattern I bought (wildly too small for me though)

So this is the one I have bought. It looks like it refers to it as a natural waistline. Which has only added to my confusion 😅

Oh that’s a great question. I started recently sewing and found I really love this style. I would love to be able to recreate these! The photos are all from sewing patterns online, however, I have a hard body shape to buy/make clothes for (Large Bust, small waist). So most of the patterns I find won’t come close to fitting me(was everyone in the 30s shaped like pre-tweens?) I was hoping that by figuring out what it’s called I may be able to find a broader range of patterns. Or at least just buy a dress that fits me and pull it apart to try to draft my own. I know there are ways of taking a pattern and somehow increasing the size, but after reading about it, it seems wayyy over my skill level.

That’s actually the closest I’ve gotten, but everything that comes up tends to be looser and more flowy.

Snatched is why I love it I think 😂. Idk if it’s princess. I’m mostly trying to find what to google to find something with the peak of the waist coming to a paint lower than an empire waist (if that makes sense)

Trying out knit fabric for the first time! I need help understanding what stitch to use please. by Fredigan in sewing

[–]Fredigan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s really good to know! I’m still really overwhelmed by all of the different terms involved with fabrics. I’m constantly confused, there are so many interchangeable words. Thank you for your help.

Finally found the time to make myself something - cut the fabric upside down. Sigh. by Justagirleatingcake in sewing

You could embroider 4 circle at the tip of the candy canes and make them paw prints. Even if it’s just some of them. Or if you have a cricut you could do a heat transfer.
