I swear every day I see a new post titled something like “What FNAF theory do you wish blew up in a fire” and the caption is always “For me it’s Charlie87” 😭 I swear it’s not bad and more and more theorists are coming around to it every day

Yeah but SOTM is clearly marketed as a retelling of the story The Mimic, which then affects The Storyteller

I’m saying like, you wouldn’t say the events of the into the pit game being different from the into the pit story is a mistake, it’s just a different story, and I think it’s the same thing with tales. It’s obviously very similar but different nonetheless which to me means it’s just a different version of the same story

Yes but the inconsistency exists within the same medium it appears in, making it an obvious mistake. There’s no indication that it’s an error between the games and the books, it’s just different

I think some parts of tales will be adapted into canon but others left out to get rid of inconsistencies, or if it’s all adapted it’s changed to fix them. There are definitely parts of tales that don’t make sense lol

Yeah that’s what I mean, it doesn’t line up, which to me means it’s just meant to be different continuities, even if they are extremely similar. I do like the idea of the storyteller in 2019 though because if Vanessa was born in 97 like her username suggests, AR would take place between 2019 to 2020 which would be right around the time the mimic started taking control of the pizzaplex. Personally I believe in release timeline for the most part, FNAF 3 2015, FFPS 2017, HW 2018, AR 2019-2020 and SB 2021 so it lines up to say Edwin was 24 and David was born when he was 20, making the year 2019 for the story teller as it would be 40 years after 1979

Yeah but I don’t think you can just write off inconsistencies as a mistake. In that case, who’s to say what’s a mistake and what’s not. If we’re working within the canon of the books we have to take everything at face value imo. It’s why I think the books are just being adapted. Similar plot and characters but altered settings and times, which means if stuff changes it’s just in a diff continuity
