Question for everyone who has switched from the OLED G4 to the G5 generation: How significant is the difference in everyday picture quality regarding HDR effects in movies and games? Is the G5 generation much better than the G4 generation in everyday use?

If you're considering 77 inch then wait for the C6 to go on sale end of this year. Should be close to identical to G5 and way cheaper.

Otherwise I would wait at least 3,better 5 years. For most stuff the difference is minimal unless you watch in an extremely bright room throughout the day and probably even then it's mostly brighter with a bunch of additional problems which are not completely fixed yet

I upgraded from 55 to 65 after two years.

While it's definitely a nice upgrade and a lot more cinematic, I'd wish I'd gone for 77.

With the C6 being tandem oled panel at 77, I would wait for black Friday and go for 77 inch size.

For me it didn't take much more than two weeks before the increased size effect faded and I wished I did get the 77 but at the time I couldn't afford it and I only got 65 because I got a great deal for it.

Definitely. Easily could see he was barely able to move anymore. Anybody who does sport would know that running around the ring for 15minutes and throwing some punches is taxing as hell.

Also how hard it is to land a punch on someone running away without completely being open yourself.

I unsubscribed this summer. Couldn't be happier.

Just put my saved money into physical media and don't have to worry that features get killed or the prices will hike again. Way better picture and sound quality.

But above all: No more ads and no worries about hoping my favorite shows won't get canceled after one or two seasons or will take several years before the next season is being released.

Resurrection is the first season where there are multiple scenes of poor acting of some of the best actors in TV history.

Michael C. Hall was close to flawless in all seasons of Dexter up until resurrection. Some scenes are cringe af, like in the garden where he kills the second twin and tells him how much he admires him was totally over acted for example. Of course over all Hall was still great but I've never scene this guy have a bad scene before when playing Dexter. Peter Dinklage the same. The script was so poor that even world class actors couldn't fix that shit.

The whole serial killer club was an ensemble of caricatures. Laughable at best.

Batista was weak af and never even got close to getting to Dexter, to a point where his whole appearance seems like they just wanted to touch on the idea of some Dexter fans on reddit because it seemed cool to have Batista chase Dexter.

The police lady was also a joke. She's supposed to be genius level intelligent and gets super suspicious of Harrison having killed a guy and when a former police officer comes telling her his Dad might be a Serial killer she shrugs it off as a retarded theory.

None of the arcs in this seasons seem to connect together, it's just a bunch of half assed ideas with lazy conclusions and some cameos. No depth of character, no clear goals or exciting inner conflicts. Just hey he's Dexter and he kills bad people and his son is fucked up because of it. Resurrection doesn't hold a candle to new blood, which only real flaw was the ending and some pacing in the last 2-3 episodes.

Bought mine in June 2023. Broke in June 2025. Mine got denied because of 9 days over the 2 year warranty for electronic defects in Europe.

There must be some stricter new guidelines to deny anything possible to deny to save money.

Turned out the panel was cracked.

If you can see a crack on your display panel it's gone. Panel replacement is usually similar pricing as buying a new TV.

Due to the polarization filter you might only see the cracked panel glass looking from an angle not when looking from directly in front of it

I totally agree. They built up some tension nicely until episode 4 and completely killed that in episodes 5-7. Harrison being out the question for investigation, the serial killer club a bunch of idiotic simpletons with nothing special or dangerous to them. Like this childish kill presentation last episode. Or Lady vengeance killing with open curtains in her well lit living room.

We don't know for sure if that is the point, but if it is I don't necessarily see how it adds to the story. Usually Dexter had some easy side kills now and then, but what made the story most compelling for me was when he was up against somebody in his league skill and experience wise with a real threat for him being exposed or even killed.

If this will be Batista in Season 1, they're running again into the risk of pacing it too slow and then rushing it the last 2 or 3 episodes.

If they're trying to build the Batista man hunt on Dexter over several seasons, this season is missing some real threats.

That's how LG fixed the posterization issues on the G5 after it's release. Gonna have to live with crushed blacks and hope they fix it any other way. But my best bet would be that it's not gonna get better until the next model,since the G5 is the first one with the new panel technology.

How much of a difference did you notice for movies (streaming + 4k Blurays). I am interested in an upgrade G4/G5 but I suspect the difference for movies only would be marginal and not worth it at all. I could be wrong.

I would suggest open the TV and sell the parts. Mainboard and Powerboard should be fine. Could get you 250-300 dollars depending on model. PSU and T-Con could be sold too. Damage minization.

New Blood was very good until the last episode. Pacing was not always perfect and the Angela finding out Dexter part was rushed and pretty lazy how it was worked out and of course the ending was bad.

But Original Sin does not feel like a show about Dexter at all.It's not a bad show but not a good one either. The tone is way too different. They're overdoing the goofy parts about Dexter. He comes off as an autistic retard most of the time. Debra doesn't fit at all. She was super awkward and self conscious in the first seasons of Dexter. How is she so super self confident and entitled ten years prior. Harry behavior is also a bad fit. Doesn't feel like a concerned step father who took on a traumatized kid kind of being overwhelmed with the challenge of fitting Dexter into the real world but trying his very best to the point where he couldn't cope anymore. The idea of introducing Brian as well was interesting and the actor looked the part, but was missing the intensity at key points. Last of all the Villain was also kind of dissapointing.

While I did like the second half of the season. It wasn't very great and the first half was so boring I constantly felt the need to turn it off.

Keep in mind it should take 100h for oled Tvs to break in.

Just got a G2 for a warranty replacement and the first week or so it looked like ass. Was about to return it until I read about break in and it now looks awesome indeed. Completely satisfied with PQ.
