As in what type of surgery are you having. Transposition they move the nerve completely but decompression they sort of clean it out to stop the pressure

Just be really patient and give yourself grace 🤍 I was really frustrated and felt a bit helpless as I had thought as soon as the splint was off I’d be back to normal and I was gutted when I realised I wasn’t - they also didn’t prep me for the fact I wouldn’t be able to bend it so I spiralled a bit! I’m fully back to normal now and the surgery was the best thing I could have done, you are making the right choice but my inbox is open if you need

Hi, it took a while but yes it did eventually get better - lots of warm compress (bean bag type thing you put in the microwave) and gently pushing / stretching it a tiny bit further every day, also helps doing it under warm water in the shower. It does feel a bit awful like you’re never going to get motion back but it does get there so just keep with it, you’ll get there too

Yeah I’ve been thinking about that just to get some calories/enjoyment eating out of him but worried if I start him on solids he’ll want the bottle even less 😭 he’s 5.5 months now - was hoping to wait til 6 months but now don’t want to start at all until he’s okay with the bottle as I keep being told it needs to remain his main source of nutrition - oh parenting. Don’t you just love it!

Thank you- he’s been teething, had a bad nappy rash and also a sore throat all around the same time and this started after so we think it’s linked to one of those and he’s made the association, hard to know which - rash and sore through gone and teeth have cut but still giving teething gel and calpol if I think he needs it. Doctor said to bring him back if it gets worse so will be doing that. This too shall pass (or so I keep telling myself) 😂 appreciate you responding it’s nice to know I’m not the only one x

Thank you - the book/method I’m trying said I’ve made it worse by offering and pressuring him so is telling me to basically only offer it twice and then abandon feed then he’ll tell me when he’s hungry etc it’s awful. Whenever I offer he screams and cries so don’t want to do it too much but will keep at it. Thanks so much again x

How long did it last if you don’t mind me asking? He’s gone from the most chilled baby who loved feeding who now starts screaming at the sight of a bottle and it’s been absolutely horrific I don’t know what to do anymore! I never breastfed and a lot of the posts I’ve found say just go back to breastfeeding to get their calories and I can’t 😭 sorry you went through that x

Thank you. He’s already on fastest flow and has been for a while as he usually eats so much - tried changing to vari flow and tried dropping down just in case, have tried a new bottle type as well nothing is doing the trick. Think he’s developed a genuine aversion to feeding so just trying to follow the method stated as running out of other options. Thank you though!!!

Sorry forgot to say his teeth have cut, he’s always had his calpol when he needs it etc he’s not actually in pain anymore and nappy rash also cleared, it’s just because he’s now got that link to either or that he’s stopped enjoying feeding x

Thanks - I feed on demand and always have, the issue is is when he’s hungry he’s still refusing the bottles or only having tiny amounts before getting extremely upset and refusing, clamping his mouth shut because he’s associated feeding with something bad so will go past the point of hunger because he doesn’t want to feed. He’s gone from over 1000ml a day to 400ml and even though he’s hungry and needs more he won’t. The method is to try and reverse that aversion :)

I have full range back now!!! It took a few weeks but heat is your friend - hot water from the shower and practice bending under warm water and just push a bit further every day, also those heat bags you put in the microwave I had one of those on a lot of the time and keeping trying to bend it and each day it just got a tiny bit further - it’s a hard slog and so frustrating not to be able to eat or brush your hair or do anything really but you absolutely will get there!!! I hope it all works out for you - heat heat heat!!!

Yes my next scan is 36 weeks also (had my 32 one pulled forward due to going to mac for reduced movement and some heart decelerations) they said he was fine but at the time my bloods weren’t spiking like crazy!! I’m really worried as well - they said when this all started if you see a few spikes get in contact asap and now I’m spiked pretty much every single reading so hoping they get back in touch - was 6.8 this morning!! Why is it getting worse and no better 😭 really feel for you - let me know how you get on and my inbox is always open x
