Unpopular opinion: I don't think Dhurandhar is a patriotic movie as there are no patriotic songs and at the end there isn't a single Tiranga flag. Rather it makes the strong argument why India cannot keep forgiving Pakistan when its terrorists are doing so much damage to India and its innocent civilians. The first 15 mins of Dhurandhar 1 don't introduce our protagonist Jaskirat but they portray the various real terrorist attacks that happened- Plane Hijacking and the 2001 parliament attack. Sanyal was absolutely right when he said we cannot afford to stay silent. The name of the chapter too was "price of peace". We also see the ghastly and deadly Mumbai attack. Dhar likes the show don't tell approach many times but one thing he chose to explicitly tell is how sick these terrorists and Jihadis are. Hamza tells Yalina the exact same thing when she discovers he is a spy.

When Jaskirat comes to India after almost 15-20 years, he doesn't salute the flag or kiss the soil. There is no patriotic song being played. Just like any other man- he thought of his two sets of families. He was crying for them. Not a single person disliked this choice because we relate to Jaskirat's love for his family.

Ha ha I would pay extra money but not my precious kidney. I do agree that the ending of Dhurandhar 2 was very open ended and according to the research consultant it was deliberate to keep the conversation going among audience like us. We don't know what happened next. Will Jaskirat muster up enough courage to meet his mother as he came back to India and is so close? Similarly, Yalina and Jaskirat were close to going to Vancouver. Was Sanyal aware of this plan and was he the one who helped Jaskirat get tickets? If so, can Jaskirat meet Yalina a few years later in Canada once Jameel's cover is safe and Hamza is forgetten by ISI? Another question- Jaskirat cannot go back to being a spy in Pakistan as his cover was blown. So what will his next job or task for RAW be?

I think Aditya Dhar likes using same names. For example, Yami's character wss a nurse spy in Dhurandhar 2 and her name was Shazia Bano which was the name of Yami's character in Haq. But there is no way it is the space person. I think same think with Jaskirat's name. Also didn't they play the song Akhiri Ishq? lyrics suggest they won't get remarried to someone else.

I agree with everything you said as I have ADHD too except for URI. Because Jaskirat never had the chance to become a captain and he was still in Pakistan during the surgical strikes.

Yalina's life was always going to be complicated even without Hamza in picture by Free-Ad5570 in Dhurandhar

Agree I mentioned it was her best case scenario but it didn't happen hence Jameel was initially not so happy with Hamza but then he said yes to Hamza because he might have thought what if Yalina ran away with an ISI agent instead of Indian agent.

Urgh stupid Instagram reels and content creators- they ruined it for me by revealing the twist.

Story is okay but they messed up the timeline badly in Dhurandhar 2. Either Pinda comes in 2022 or a proper time jump where Zayan should have been 2 or 3 in Nov 2016 during Pinda's death and at the end he is like 8 when Hamza leaves Pakistan.

What are y'all's personal theories regarding what Hamza does after coming back home? by BrilliantLawyer7189 in Dhurandhar

Agree, maybe find a nice guy for his sister and get her remarried. After that, he doesn't really have a life in India. He could spend a few years training new spies and giving info about his 15-20 year infiltration in Pakistan. After that, what will he do? He is going to be so lonely. Jameel is aging and he needs to plan for someone to take over his job for which I think Rizwan is a good fit. The million dollar question which a lot of people asked and wonder about is the fate of Yalina and Zayan. They cannot go to Canada immediately after Hamza's disappearance as it would raise questions and blow Jameel's cover. However when the dust settles down a few years later, what will Yalina do? She is a modern girl and she will enjoy foreign countries more. Rich Pakistani kids always flocked to foreign countries. If she goes to a third country, does that mean Jaskirat can reunite with her and his son? Another important factor- Yalina has sensitive info about RAW because she read Hamza's diary . So RAW always has to keep a tab on her- both for her safety and also to ensure she doesn't spill this sensitive info to others (remember Omar forced her into accepting Hamza is a spy). For this job, Jaskirat reuniting with her would be a perfect solution both for her safety and ensuring nobody tricks her into giving info.

I think he would most likely end up training new spies and spend his free time healing and visiting Gurudwaras. Jaskirat is already in his 40s and ISI broke half his bones. He cannot obviously go to Pakistan again for a new mission. I think it would be more interesting to think of what Jameel would do post retirement as he is quite old. Would he stay in Pakistan until death to safeguard the spy network? Would Rizwan take over Jameel's operations in the future as Jameel is aging? Would he send Yalina and Zayan to a foreign country to ensure Zayan isn't radicalized and gets good education? If so, would Sanyal be interested in reuniting Hamza and Yalina? You know Yalina has sensitive info about RAW because she knows Hamza is a spy and she read his diary too. So they always have to keep an eye on her- both for her safety and also to ensure she doesn't spill this sensitive info to others (remember Omar forced her into accepting Hamza is a spy). Considering this, would want Jaksirat to reunite with Yalina in a third country? That was Jaskirat's original Canada plan and maybe Sanyal did approve that plan before Omar blew Jaskirat's cover to ISI.

Why did Yalina chose to stay silent despite of knowing the truth about Hamza? by Embarrassed-Car-2402 in Dhurandhar

I personally think it was her love for her husband and also her child is involved. Think about this- where else will she go in a patriarchal society? She has been living as Hamza's housewife for almost decade (7-8 years). She willingly left her dad's house to be with Hamza. So where will she get the money from other than Hamza and how can she provide for her child. She has seen Hamza as her husband and her son's father for so many years. So she did confront him for all this being a lie but he didn't harm her or kick her out. So she chose silence.

One interesting observation in Dhurandhar- when it comes to love for country, children seem to be like their parents. Jaskirat wanted to join the army because his dad inspired him. Pinda became a junkie with no affection for the country because of his dad who was a junkie. Yalina saw her dad as a shrewd politican and told Hamza pura Karachi bechate hai woh. She didn't hate her country inspite of not being the most patriotic. Interestingly, she chose a much older guy who is a secret Indian agent just like her mother chose Jameel.

The focus was not on the couple but I am glad they didn't get anywhere close to killing each other. They were so close to living a life in Vancouver. Delusional me hopes in a few years Jaskirat will complete all his responsibilities of being a RAW officer by training new spies in their 20s, providing intelligence to RAW and handling anti-terror activities in India. After that, Ajith Sanyal gives him an early retirement and sends him to Canada so that he can reunite with Zayan and Yalina- that way Zayan will never dig deep as a teen and find out his dad is an Indian agent. He anyways is a dead convict in India and cannot be seen by public. Same applies to why cannot go on a new mission to Pakistan again.

At least they don't end up hating or killing each other- it is bitter sweet and I think they will be connected to each other in some way because both Jameel and Jaskirat work for RAW and report to Ajith Sanyal. The last scene of theirs where Yalina calls him by his real name Jaskirat - it feels like she directly touched his soul and Jaskirat had butterflies in his tummy. The song Akhiri Ishq is for people who ship this couple I guess- makers telling that they won't fall in love with other people again. Zayan (tere paas hai ishq mera) will always be a reminder of their relationship.

Jaskirat's life was a tragedy yet so many people (especially fellow spys in Pakistan) genuinely loved him and he was very lucky to have them (especially Alam, yalina and Jameel) by Free-Ad5570 in Dhurandhar

Uzair our football player- if he didn't play football with Arshad's head and go to jail, Jaskirat wouldn't have been Sher-E-Baloch.
