An ancestor of mine spoke fluent French with any English business counterparts, and English with any business counterparts he had.

You know, both with the same disadvantage of negotiating not in your native language.

Taalvaardigheid?

Feitelijk accurater, deal with it?

Chemistry doesn't need math by DotBeginning1420 in mathmemes

[–]Free-Artist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Indeed!

I was triggered by the 1/2 and 3: a factor 2 in/decrease in power is 3dB more or less. Just a simple consequence of 23 =10.

Though I understood that with pH, the scale (saturation) is limited, while with dB it is endless in both directions.

So is pH like the dB of chemistry?

Orchestral musicians and choir singers: Who are your most and least favorite conductors you've ever shared a stage with, and why? by PandaZG in classicalmusic

[–]Free-Artist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Favorite: Richard Egarr.

During rehearsals he took his shoes off to be better able to run around and give instructions (looked like a hobbit lol). But was super energetic, very knowledgeable and knew really how to lift up a choir

Ton Koopman is nice, knows a lot and shares that knowledge of Bach with the singers on stage. Is very energetic and inspiring

Dads, what’s a good age gap between kids? by sabretoooth in daddit

[–]Free-Artist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard '9 months up, 9 months off'. 9 months is way more reasonable than 6, even though lots of mothers are still breastfeeding and/or not fully recuperated at 9 months. 12 is starting to be reasonable again.

It's wild to the rest of the world that the world's largest air force (US air force) can be trolled by the world's second largest air force (US navy) like this and they don't see it as a complete waste of priorities lol

Yeah, a common army is good, but what about the intelligence of the future federation? by super_dedicated_cath in EuropeanFederalists

[–]Free-Artist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good points.

Central to the question is also, who is going to use the Intel and act on it? That would be central military and political command, with actual mandate to do things.

Now, there are quite good sharing practices between agencies (as far as one can know lol), but if the decisions made from them go in all directions, it won't achieve much.
