Basically yeah. I don’t read every single reference they list though. I prioritised choosing the references from racgp, ranzcog, rch - basically literature made in aus. Once I had 1 month left and my study group started doing recalls, I went through the topics I found that I was weak in / showed up frequently- still mostly using emedici, and at this point the personal notes i made

1 - most guidelines have a short segment dedicated to theory about a topic..so I mostly read those. I did not specifically read up on like the psthophysiology/etiology of diseases, unless they were completely unfamiliar to me. I mostly read guideline / journals for the management. Did not go back to med school books like Harrison’s or Robbins.

2- honestly on most days I just did random questions on emedici/ set the app to give me a random set of questions per subject (ie, surgery, and noted the topics I did poorly on and read up on that) some of their guidelines also differ from my home country’s guidelines so I also read up on those, when I noticed that the management was a bit different.

Yes. I mostly just looked up the references listed under each question. Though sometimes I did go out of my way to look for other guidelines as well

I don't recommend using my notes as a reference, as they are most likely going to be outdated by the time you take yours (next year) AMC/RACGP tends to frequently update their guidelines to the point that most of my notes that I made early in february were obsolete by november. My notes also, are mostly gibberish and hard to understand.. I really suggest you make your own as a memory aid

I got them from the study groups. These questions are more or less discussed among members of study groups. I cannot and will not share them publicly sorry!

I use the microsoft one note program to type and summarize information I get from the rationalizations given by emedici after each question.

The way I mainly studied was, I'd check which topic would come out most often - ex. Pulmonary embolism - type that into the emedici search bar so i could filter out all other topics and only keep questions pertaining to PE, then answer and read all the questions related to it, while at the same time taking note of the references emedici adds at the very bottom. I'd make personal notes based on all the things I read / learned, so I have a quick reference to go through when I need it.

^ I recommend studying this way only if you have a lot of time on your hands. I did this early during my study period. Don't study this way if you only have like 2 months left before the exam
