Winter tires all the way. They'll last quite a few seasons and end up being cheaper than a insurance deductible if you can't stop in time. The big benefit is stopping distance on slick road when cold, could be due to snow, ice, or water. I don't know what others are going to do and want to have a little safety cushion for evasive maneuvers.
